First off, nothing was confirmed with Gears 3. That’s why I asked for wager, rules, etc. and then wait for confirmation from the opponent like I did with you and Will. There was no backing out of any Gears 3 MM since it was never agreed on happening. You changed the wager from $250 to $50 and Brian said it could be done, but we would have to bring in our own setup since he’s only doing fighting games MM. Without either of us having all the equipment to bring to ReSe and since I did say “Who wants to money match at ReSe” I felt it best to just forget about the whole Gears 3 MM. I had no problem with a Gears 3 MM, but I’m not gonna agree to something before fully assessing it. You assumed you had a surefire win ahead of yourself and quickly agreed to a MM, then you begin to have doubts and want to back out of it. That’s not acceptable.
Second, you and I both agreed on a T6 and SFIVAE MM with rules and wager included for each. There’s no backing out of that. If you don’t want to play T6 at this point the only other acceptable thing would be to just pay the $50 and we can start the AE MM right after exchange. You still will have to have your $50 in place before the start of the AE MM, so you would be down 50 and have 50 on the line. I don’t play around regarding MMs, so just put in as much time as you can in T6 and have your $50 in place before the start of the T6 MM Saturday.
Not having the money and not having the money to throw away on a video game MM are two different things. I thought you were talking about the $50 for gears, $250 MM really? I clearly explained that I thought sofa was joking and that I would never put that up in a MM. No one that is actually MM’ing sofa took him seriously, I was convinced (am still a convinced) that it won’t go down. But if it does then that’s $50 for me.

That’s why I asked to have money before the start of the match, because I don’t want to hear “I thought I was gonna win so I didn’t bring enough.” Even if I never get the chance to play a game, if I’m gonna be crazy enough to jump the gun and agree to a MM then guess what I’m playing in a MM. I kinda wish we all played the same games, it’s so difficult to find something that caters to everyones tastes. Matt, I’d just like you to come back to Arcana to see how things stack up. I don’t think it’s fair to quote past performances to compare yourself to the current players, it’s apples and oranges, but I do think you could do well in the game if you put some time into it. Rob’s character might seem to body yours but I get the feeling she does what she does to Kira to just about everyone… it’s not really specific to any one character. Either way, I can tell you want to come back and prove you’re still a top dog so do it! You don’t got alzheimers or arthritis YET. :lovin:

This is what I’m saying; I don’t appreciate the game. With games that I enjoy, I have fun coming up with things and answering the questions that my opponents provide. The only thing AH3 makes me want to do is play something else, and BB has lit that fire in me as of late. Kira and Catherine’s big hitboxes allow Scharl to do whatever she wants to them offensively. Defensively it’s more generic, but being so big makes it hard as fuck to deal with.
Brent: Homing doesn’t have to be free to escape things like excaliburs. You could do the same thing in AHF to people who blew all their homing, which is something I truly miss about the game; you had to use homing intelligently, or you got fucked up for losing it. Before people talk about how “It’s a different game now” or whatever, I’m fully aware. It’s just a game that I don’t enjoy, and quite a few OG Arcana players also feel that way.
EDIT: There is one character I’m genuinely interested in, and if I ever put time into her I might make a return. I don’t know when or if that’s going to happen, but we’ll see.
Where did I say I was the only person with IRL issues to deal with? Id assume everyone does, since everyone lives a life. I was simply explaining to you why t6 wasnt going down, since you’re not some random person ive never met before I thought you deserved one out of courtesy.
Really one isnt needed, and whether you believe that im just a pussy backing out of a MM or you believe that I really havent been able to put a day or two into a game I dont play in preparation (or both) I dont care - t6 is not happening either way. This world you live in where MM agreements are verbal contracts and must go down no matter what does ot exist. And the world where you get paid for winning a MM without winning the MM certainly does not exist.
Trust me im still very cocky about t6 against you and if I had the time to play a bit b4 sat id be all over the free money. Ill call you to discuss this cus your stance on the issue is silly yet you seem serious so we’ll clear things up.

You did pretty good except for this line. Money requires practice. “Free” money does not. Free is free. That gets thrown around too much. Working for something isn’t how you get it for free. You can’t be cocky but be like “I don’t have time to practice for this free money” cause it doesn’t compute.

OK, yes we can carpool Saturday. So far Dale and Jon have contacted me. So they are in. I saw Mike last night…once he confirms, then my car is “full”. I personally dont like having the back seat where people are scrunched together. If people are paying to ride, the ride should be comfortable. Just how I feel on the matter.
The Tekken gathering last night was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. There were about 10 of us there I think. Much props to Justin (LingMassacre) for hosting. Its nice to know my game may be taking off in this state again.
I feel like what Matt is talking about with AHF vs AH3 feels similar to how people felt playing 3S and then when SF4 comes out there were a good many people that never really switched at all and entirely ignored 4 because they just hated it so bad after playing 3S.
Also stuff just casually said on an internet forum doesn’t count as legal agreement so yea not playing the money match at all but getting the money anyway is kind of dumb in my opinion.
