Hey guys i’m Manny from Bay Area Fight Night In Oakland. I just wanted to let you guys know about Tuesday Fight Nights. Where we do casuals for UMvC3 and SF:AE but I would love to have Super Turbo there as well. If you guys are ever free and need a place to do a session come on by on Tuesday(it’s only $2 fee) or hit me up if you guys want to run a tournament.

I’ve been thinking of a new competitive format for the next gathering (whenever that will be). Let me know how this sounds:
We use a random number generator with numbers 1-32 (fuck Akuma) and make a pool of about ten characters. The numbers will correspond to the character as they appear on the selection menu. Odd characters are the new version and Even characters will be old version (1 = N. Ryu, 4 = O. Ken, 30 = O. Sagat and so on). Once we write down the character pool, we run Starcup rules with the exception that you may only pick characters from the pool. Then each player writes down his 3 character choices before the tourney begins (though order of those characters may be switched).
That’s just a rough blueprint, but we could throw in some other ideas there as seen fit.
-no repeated characters
-if a number is generated twice, consider it a wildcard (one slot can be used to pick any character [not Akuma])
-instead of Starcup, we could run it waseda style with each player picking two different characters from the pool to stick with for the whole tournament

hey Manny , i totally forgot about this thing. i had spoke to Papasi (1 of our head guys) about this , and he says its probably not practical for all of us to lug around all different kinds of consoles&monitors/sticks back n forth. the main reason is probably bc we have too many people from different parts of the bay come together. a handful from sf , another handful+ from fairfield , and 4 from the san jose area. alot of the norcal ST players come right after getting off of work on fri night to meet up so they have to endure traffic everytime we meet and so when we come together we just like to meet and play w/ whatever the venue provides.
again i do apologize for not being able to get back to you in a speedy manner .

No man I fully understand. I’m going to be working on getting more systems so all you guys need to do i bring sticks. Even tho its going to take me a while to get the money for it when I do and I get super turbo(as it is one of the games I would like to see played) I will write back letting you guys know. but if you guys want to do a tournament or need a space and no one can host, You guys are more then welcome to hit me up if you guys want to do a session.

Hey guys, so I finally got the job! Also I might be going to NEC, and I want to train up really hard for ST I need the hyperbolic timechamber before December. Who will help me?
I myself prefer the arcade but if you had to use a console, I’d say xbox360 or we could GGPO with a head to head PC. The other norcal heads like Papasi will know more overall on what’s better for players.
Congrats… I can’t wait til you treat us all out on your first paycheck! For training, I think all of us are down to help out. IMO, I think you should mix it up. When we’re not around, master execution in training mode and expose yourself to different situations like play online against a variety of players. Be persistent and learn from your mistakes.
