This will be sick. This is going to be my first MvC3 tournament.

Ok I spoke to the event manager and figured out the room situation. I apologize as there was a little mix up. So the 124 rate is static for NCR. The other rate options are not static. The advanced purchase or AAA rates are apparently variable and change weekly. As such, those rates should not have been listed through the NCR page. The hotel placed those options in the NCR booking page by mistake but has since removed it.

Those other options can be accessed through the hotel’s main site here: Milpitas - Silicon Valley Hotel, California - Embassy Suites Milpitas

The rates may or may not be cheaper than the NCR price. I encourage you guys to book whatever option is cheapest.

It is too late to renegotiate the room rates for the event so I’ll offer this instead. I’ll throw in 1 free NCR registration ($30-$45) and 1 raffle ticket to the people who book a room. This offer is good for the first 40 rooms or until May 27th when the room block expires.

Please send me a PM with the name used to book the room so I can look you up and waive the registration fee. Also come find me at the event and I’ll give you a free raffle ticket.

So now booking a room includes NCR registration, raffle ticket, free breakfast, and free open bar.

We will not have any sticks to borrow but there will be lots of nice participants that will loan you a stick if you just ask.

Hi John,

I believe Fudd or Papasi (one of the two) spoke to you about the possibility of me bringing my cab for one of the setups in the proposed ST side tourney. Papasi told me you would like to know the specifics. As far as what I personally would contribute to the ST tourney, I would just be bringing my Sega New Astro City candy cab. I’m sure you’re familiar with the size of candy cabs, they are not all that large. The space it would take up in addition to what Papasi had set up last NCR for ST would be negligible.

Thanks for your consideration John. You can direct your questions/comments/concern to me in PM or relay them through Fudd/Papasi if that is easier.

I was mainly intending for it to be used as one of the ST setups. Do you know if the hotel will let me roll it up to my room for the night? Its fairly portable and will easily fit in an elevator. Once its off my truck its a solo job to move it around. I thought that bringing my cab would help lend to the old-school spirit of the ST side tourney. All participants should get a kick out of having it there.

Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19 there will be Super Turbo at NorCal Regionals!

Saturday
We’ll have three stations: 2 superguns and 1 Astro City cabinet (courtesy of bitkid)
Sticks will be provided

Sunday
We’ll have 1 supergun and the cabinet set up in the back for casuals and/or team events. Open to suggestions for now. 3v3 SBO style anyone?

Entry fee: $20
*In addition, unless you are registered for NCR, you must buy a raffle ticket ($3-5) in order to compete in the ST tournament.

Sign-ups will start at noon. Tournament will start around 1PM on Saturday

3/5 games
4/7 games for Grand Finals
Akuma is banned
Turbo 3

Top 5 payout
1st - 60%
2nd - 20%
3rd - 10%
4th - 5%
5th placed players split the remaining 5% two ways
