Hi everyone! It’s a bit since last time I’ve logged in!.
I’m improoved since my first post here but I’m still struggling with “my” character. There’s anyone that can give me some tips about a character that can fit me?
I’m currently playing as Dicta but I’m feeling limited and I’m not enough satisfied when I win.
As a player, since I’m still a noob, I tend to be defensive while I look for an opportunity to switch in an offensive mode without losing too much defensive power.
With Dicta I feel that he isn’t fit me very well since I can be quite aggressive but not an absolute wall like I would like to be. Also I suffer pretty much the lack of a true anti air and from this point of view I’m feeling very limited.
Anyone that can give me a tip or two?
My apologies if this question isn’t that technical for you guys but I want to improove more and more and I want to find my main character; it’s not enough a char that i like, I want to “be” that character.

You can try Guile. When you say “wall” I think of Guile. Or Ryu, Sagat, or Dhalsim would be good too. Each of these characters can play strong defensive games and can be aggressive when needed. Juri might fit the bill too.
I would try Juri. She’s the perfect mix of defensive and offensive in my opinion. She has great pokes and anti airs with one of the best defensive fireballs in the game. She does have a small learning curve with some of her bigger combos (Holding a stored fireball) but its not something I would consider hard to learn its just a bit different. You can switch between playing defensive and offensive whenever you want and Feng Shui Engine gives you great opportunity to switch it up against opponents.
At the same time Guile is another solid choice. In most matchups he will be playing more on the defensive side but I think some players have a bit of trouble against an offensive minded Guile because its not something you see too very often.
I do encourage you to try learning characters you might think you wouldn’t like. I started out playing very defensive with Rose and then started to play C. Viper and I stuck with her for quite some time.
Can I ask you to explain this concept?
When I was new I started playing how I had thought I wanted to play. A defensive style that mostly played safe. After playing the game a few months and learning whats what I started playing Viper after seeing Latif stream> I pretty much fell in love with a more aggressive play style. I’ve since then calmed down a bit and settled for Chun-Li.
I try to make sure newer players have explored all of their options because who knows you might like something you didn’t know you would.
