are there any tips to getting the j.a follow up after a land cancelled j.d 6b 28d? after the 28d launches them i can’t seem to time the dash correctly to get close enough to continue the combo.

In regard to your previous post, if they are in the air when 28D hits, you can jump and follow it up. Something like 6A, 6C, 2D, 28D, then jump or super jump and do an air combo… I think you might have enough time to dash up as well though it’s pretty tight? It’s not really important though as you have better damage options (ie 6C dash x 5, 6B, 5C, 6B, 5C, 236D.
In that video you linked, they RCed the 28D, landed and ran up. Another option when you are in the corner and land a 28D is to RC and immediately airdash. You’ll cross under and can do a 6C a couple of times and do her bnb drive combo putting them in the corner.
When I was learning it, I was trying to dash as soon as the throw wiff recovered, when in reality, you don’t have to dash as soon as possible. When others have said don’t rush it, really, don’t rush it… the timing is looser than you think.
All you have to do is 6C, BC (noel’s head will dip down a bit if you are looking for a visual indicator), then press 6,6C (you need to be pressing the second forward input as close together to your C input as possible, if you do it right, you get a very short distance dash that practically blends with your 6C). I found that the main thing isn’t that they are going to drop to ground, it was usually me missing my dash causing 6C to wiff. I’d recommend practicing on Arakune.
While I’m not the person you’re replying to, I have to say that’s the best explanation I’ve seen on the 6,6C string. I just spent some time in practice mode, and I just pulled it off for the first time with your help. Thanks so much!:china:
Aright heres my question. Playing a lot of Noel vs Taokaka. My buddy just throws out Tao’s pounce super randomly all day and that shit always connects. The only way I can keep from eating it is to double jump in anticipation of it, but he has 50% meter all the time, I’m not Storm, I can’t stay at the top of the screen. The move comes out so fast, if I literally guess its going to happen, then 2D works well, but its slow and wont work if I’m not already doing the move in anticipation. So tell me how to beat this homing super that cant be teched, grabs you out of the air, and can combo into itself, because my friend is starting to get pretty cocky just because he can throw this nonsense out on wakeup and catch me with it everytime. I’m sure there is an easy explanation to it but I cannot make sense of the moves properties. I posted this in the Tao thread too. Someone help me out because I own this guy aside from these random supers. Thanks fellas.
You crouch to avoid the jumping super. Get free combo (free counter hit), finish her off.
For 28D combos, you can combo after it without meter but it can be quite tough. A lot of people just RC it and go from there, depending on the range and how you hit them. On the ground you can do dash 5A > 6A > Air Combo or even 5A > Air Combo (I guess you can do 6C as well after standing hit combo, if you’re really that sure you can make it!). If you are a speedy muthafuck then go for it, but remember that they have to be kind of close to you to make it easier…like after say, Drive 5_6A and 6B.
For the 6CB+C crap you can start dashing as soon as the throw whiff starts. You just have to make sure you aren’t doing it too fast so you don’t dash.
Execution was sexy HeartNana. Too bad you’ll be going back to the land of that rising sun. Hope to meet you at the next Evo, making sure I’ll be going next year >:D
I just kinda wish we coin a cool name for her Dash 6C loop. Seriously. Fuerte has the cool sounding “RSF loop (Run Stop Fierce).” Suggestions?
DST loop? (Dash Strong Throw, almost sounds like a dust loop, no? XD)
Alright, I have a question for you guys. I’ve been steadily getting better with Noel, I’m still trying to master some combos, but I can see myself getting there. My problem is that I know its one thing to learn a combo, but my problem which I’ve noticed online is landing the combo. I know Brandino is a prime witness in that. Whenever I fight, some players read me like an open book! like they know exactly when I’m going to mix the 6B in, and my 3C is almost always blocked!
I don’t understand what I can do to create combo opportunities… Because I noticed I can get in on my opponent very well, but it doesn’t matter if they know what coming. I need your help!!!
Also good show HeartNana, your Noel is the reason why I’m still trying so hard. Keep up the good work!
Mixup mixup mixup. Get used to hitting people when they’re blocking, and don’t worry about when they block. Get in there deep, and keep mixing it up until you block their shield or poke through. 5A is a great starter for pressure strings (ex: 5A X2~3 5B 5C 2C), and then mix up the occasional 3C in there when you see them blocking high. Just poke holes in there like you’re Mr Stabby and you’ll break through for a combo.
(edit) Oh, and while I’m thinking about it, I’ve had a lot of success in punching through with 6C, 236D on a blocked drive chain because the 6C will actually pull them back in and let you keep applying pressure. It’s a lovely move.
I see…fortunately I had the luck of finding Brandino’s BB room, and learned quite a few things. For starters I have no clue what to do when the opponent I face can block well, I lose my composure and it leads to beat downs. My mixup is horrible atm, that combo you listed is my first clue as to what to do.
Unfortunately, I can’t really think of a way to practice block strings or mixups in the training room. Setting the Cpu to block will block everything. But I appreciate the help guys.:china:
ya know somtimes rushing in with a 3a to 2d will completely throw people off. you just got to keep mixing up you openers and try not to be to predictable
I can finally do the throw loop as consistent as ever!!!
Yesterday I can do 2 in a row and couldn’t do the bloom trigger combo cuz of the stupid timing.
A day later (today) i can do the loop however i want!!! Rush after whiff?? NP!! don’t rush but do it 2 in a row? gyeah! lol That lead to doing the bloom trigger combo timing down to pat. That is to do it as slow as possible after the 1st D (without any other input before, during and after you press D)
Sorry about being weird, its just it took forever for me to be able to do it.
The only reason i did it was i just stopped using noel and mained Jin for a while (succesful at that too lol) then just practiced with noel again and then both the mind and body were in conjunction and figured out the timing =D
Basically if you feel burned out from training Noel, just move onto another character then come back.
Just need to figure out how to actually land the first hit into my combo of choice haha
