Clyde - There’s def top playerS at Noel, but I can’t personally name off one Noel player that just stands out above the rest, and that’s mostly because I don’t know any Tokyo players. Good noel players in Kansai are pretty much me and Azuo, with me generally doing better in tournaments than him.
Honestly, just watch any Japanese Noel and you’ll be fine.
My tips for combos are the same exact thing i tell everyone else - practice it
they really have to fix that bonus disc…they rarely mention when a combo only work on specific characters and some combos wont work on others…-_-. What were they trying to do trick people? I spend 10min trying to get a combo on ragna when it only works on jin.
When i say tips i mean like, what parts do you delay and which parts you don’t, how long do you keep that delay, etc… The dash is pretty hard to get. One tip i use for some games is look at a certain part in the characters animation, like a lift of a foot for example. so i know when to press the button.
I only wish when it diplays the button input it displays it like virtua fighter. Shows how long u have your hand on the button.
Yes practice is important, but i didn’t need to practice at one time because the only thing i was doing wrong was doing a move too early and had to wait for a different animation on the other character.
No really if it’s one thing to make me hate this game it’s fucking Arakune.
So I just got back from a BB tournament in Myrtle Beach yesterday and in case you want to know the results:
Blazblue Teams:
1st - Team Korea (Brandino, John) Noel/Arakune
2nd - Tastes Like Sex (Zack, Daniel) Rachel/Hakumen
3rd - Iron the Bloodedge (SGX, Craig) Ragna/Tager
I did pretty good considering I only loss twice that entire time. Once in the team tournament to a good Rachel and getting scrubbed out in the 1st set of grand finals to someone who has never played Arakune before that match. Now granted I beat all the Arakune’s I played against both online and offline (Which isn’t good because I’ve yet to play a legit Arakune) and I still have NO IDEA how to go about that match. Especially if I get cursed because it’s like Noel has no answer to anything he does or has no way of getting in <_<. I literally won by just not giving a fuck and playing Level 0 the entire set and he just camped long enough to get negative penalty and he would burst as soon as I touched him so I just needed one good combo to beat him :lame:
I don’t even think I want to face a good Arakune after getting scrubbed out by one who’s NEVER played him before…doesn’t help I have a hard time comboing him…along with Carl and for some reason Rachel.
No expert tactic by any means, but against Akarune, her air super works wonders when he is trying to fill the screen with shit. 2D takes a little wind out of his sails when he attacks low. Other than that, I’m at a loss, too.
What’s a solid follow up to 2D for you guys?
For Arakune, I just try to rush him 2A, 6A, get in a hit quick and get out of the curse. Keep him at a safe distance as well, and try to get a combo in when you can.
Ok, I need some help once again, I’ve been practicing the 6C (B+C) x N loop and I can finally dash inbetween the whiff’s now, however when I get to the 5D part i can only connect the 5D->6B->5C part and i can’t connect the rest (6B->5C again than B.Trigger). What I noticed is that the training Dummy when hit with 5C in drive he flies to high and hits the ground before the 6B hits.
I guess I’m asking what is the timing or height the target should be before using Drive? Am I hitting him to quickly with the 6C whiff?
yeah…odds are that you are doing it too quickly…the drive combo portion is much slower than the rest of it…do it slower and watch the heat gauge…if it stays bright red you are doing it right…when it darkens it means its possible for them to tech out
your doing it too quick, take your time when doing the drive. Don’t just keep on pressing it as fast as you can, watch the opponents height. They don’t recover right away and have some time when falling.
Is the 6C loop her best approach? SOmetime I have trouble getting in safely with her. With Tager there’s always a B sledge but when I try and rush in on characters with Noel my slide kick or Air Dash tend to get punished.
Am I just playing her wrong? My other though would be to run in and 2D but that seems like D-Mashing Noel territory.
edit: I see the reason, I’m doing the drive part too fast! i didn’t know i can essentially wait after the 5C in the drive combo to connect the 6B. Wow, I was slow on that one!
no (or maybe yes, lol) but i would feel bad about it if i’m fighting someone who doesn’t know the game to well. I would try not to abuse the move unless i’m playing knowledgeable people or if i’m getting beat and the person would think i wouldn’t use it again. I like to switch it up at times.
By the way how many invincibility frames does that thing have. I havn’t played much noels online but to new comers, them 2d moves are ultimate and abused. Your high level play so it doesn’t matter
Should i even be using optic barrel? It seems like a lot of dumb risk for very little damage. Most i can really get off of it in a good scenario is a BC loop.
