Furious, you have to be the only person who didn’t like the intro in Spectre, I thought it was great. The car chase wasn’t that bad either. The film was enjoyable up until they get back to London, after the explosion. I felt like it dragged on after that and I didn’t like the fact that the main bond villain was too much like the bond villains in the older films.
I have to admit that the way he pulls women in this film is ridiculous.
Furious, did you mean you didn’t like the intro song or the rooftop sequence?
Rooftop sequence was great, the way he casually struts over all the air conditioning vents whilst carrying that AR was badass, you can tell he’s very well seasoned now. I hated the title sequence, all I could think of was Nanda Yo! Tentacle monster rape! it would have been great if they redid all the previous movie intros to show how Spectre was hidden behind it all.
Shit almost looks like tentacles to me in hindsight.
The scene with Monica Bellucci was just fucking stupid. Sigh out loud stupid.
But saying that I did like her taste in music I nerded out a little when I heard it
Cum Dederit
The car chase was rather meh, though the slow driver bit was pretty funny. Also props for them turning Q into a decent character for this movie.
did you never notice they announce the artist doing the intro song around the same time as they announce actors or details of the movie? most movies dont make mini press conferences and announcements like this.
Painfully drawn out/suggestive tentacle porn opening sequence, opening action scene was braindead, Bond girls were beyond meh except the black chick who didn’t even have a major role past the first hour, the car chase was dull, these guys were cruising the empty streets in their nice ass cars and the chase ended in an idiotic manner, can’t recall any tense action scenes outside of the Train one, torture scene was so weak and the main villain didn’t get enough screen time. His introduction scene was kinda cool, after that he goes missing. Highlight of the movie was Batista kicking ass in most of his scenes. Kept me from falling asleep… He didn’t save my friend though… That nigga was snoring.
I saw it a couple days ago at a press screening. No plot details, just overall impression, but putting in spoiler tags in case anyone wants to go in blind:
[details=Spoiler]Fun film, but not spectacular in any way. It’s basically a summer action film, watch and forget.
Biggest problem was tone - as the “finale” to the Daniel Craig series and especially as a follow up to Skyfall, it’s unworthy. It’s too witty. Too many one liners and jokes. If you saw Age of Ultron and thought it was too quippy, this movie is too…though Spectre is definitely better than Ultron.
Let me put it this way, I actually had to look up the director only to find out it’s the same guy who made Skyfall. What happened bruh.[/details]
Lea sedoux character ,even as a Bond girl does good work.
Q,M are involved in the film beyond their usual one scene.
Opening day of the dead sequence
Cons
Too long. 2hr 20 film felt longer
Waltz character s orign/motivation was silly /weak and he should have more of a threatening vibe imo. Also, he can’t pull of the shoes without socks look.
Batista was underused.
Music was meh especially the Smith song.
Bond theme is barely used that I felt.
Monica Bellucci was a cameo basically.
As Darkstslker said, its basically a matinee film. It’s not bad just OK.
Spectre 7/10
FYI my scores casino royale 9/10
Quantum 6/10
Skyfall 8.5
