I don’t know if there are plans to even localize it.
I just remember Marvelous talking about bring the franchise to PS3/360 since they were extremely disappointed with the wii sales in japan.
but game did well enough over here to allow them to do a sequel.
Apparently the game also has japanese voice actors. So yeah this game is an obvious attempt to appeal more towards Japanese audiences in hopes of selling copies
You do have to feel bad for Marvelous, all their games don’t do that well in Japan on the Wii but they put up respectable numbers overseas.
Honestly, I think Japan audiences don’t dig games like NMH that are so humor centric and poke fun at genre cliches all the time, unless there is fan service. How else can you explain the failure of Viewtiful Joe and God Hand in their native land? Japanese Otaku and fan boys are a strange lot that don’t seem to tolerate fun unless a half naked digital female might be involved.
I don’t know if they would even be able to do this to the NMH2 considering Ubisoft seems to be bankrolling NMH 2, although it could still happen, I guess if they agree to localize it.
Ha, a Japanese company having to pay a western one money to buy the localization rights of a game developed in Japan to publish it there. I’m sure more then a few guys over at Grasshopper and UbiSoft would love that.
I think the character and the first game did pretty well but the sequel and spin offs rapidly released with 18 months of each other after the first game and Joe’s disappearance until TvC seem to indicate that it didn’t do that well. Otherwise we’d probably have seen much more games and Clover Studios wouldn’t have folded.
ubisoft does not plan on bringing Heroes Paradise stateside
With this we can kind of gauge the chances of Desperate Struggle getting a remake as well
Clover studios folded because the biggest names behind the company(Mikami, Kamiya, Inaba) left to form Platinum Games. This was done over disagreements with Capcom, not any specific game’s sales.
Lol little creepy zombie kid. Haunted place is looking good.
And I’m happy they’re not showing to much in these trailers. Kinda started to get worried if they’ll show to much or not. I wouldn’t have a problem if they kept doing it this way for their trailers in the future until the game comes out.
So was I the only one that noticed in that trailer, along with the Henry and Shinobu scenss, they showed snippets where it looks like the player is controlling a fucking Tiger?
It’s the tiger from Travis’ Slot Machine power ups in the first game.(The one that would move across the screen indicating how much time the power up had left)
I was wondering if those things were scrapped altogether with the removal of the slot machine after kills(I think alot of people complained about the random element, and getting them when everything was already dead)
I can’t say I’m really excited about it but it’ll be cool to see how they implemented that
I am fucking amazed at what they are doing in terms of graphical capability. I mean it’s no Uncharted 2, but it’s pretty fucking amazing how gorgeous this thing looks. More on the animation side than the poly count side, but still.
