No more CRTs being sold in stores by 2008, a problem for future tournaments?

Honestly, it fucks up ANY fast paced or timing oriented games.

The only Evo games that would prefer 16:9 widescreen is Tekken5DR, Wii Smash Bros, and SF2 HD Remix. Fortunately, all these games are playable in 4:3. So running them all on 480i SDTVs will git r’ done.

When Evo runs a game that requires widescreen, that’s when you have to make a decision on what HD display to settle on. AFAIK, all current flat panel technologies have input lag, even at their native resolutions.

That Sharp gaming lcd tv mentioned earlier is the fastest flat panel, and costs approximately $1400. Getting 2 dozen of those shouldn’t be a problem

I will be buried with my tube.

However the HD CRT TVs otherpost processing programs are still within the scope of your arguement.

While deinterlacing and scaling may be one of the big causes of lag for us. Some TVs also have tons of programs/algorithms to enchance the picture which create more lag.

As thats the problem that I’m facing. Even when games are in a progressive mode or put in a external deinterlacer device like xrgb2+, the TV still lags because of these other post processes that I can not turn off.

Just because almost all computer monitors support multiple scan rates, that doesn’t mean that all HD CRT tvs support multiple scan rates.
