definitely made more people aware about releases.
so it’s amiibos fault a lot of us missed out on limited edtition majoras mask and majoras mask 3ds.
it’s pretty annoying. sigh
As of now and who knows when if even, only Japan/Australia/UK have the regular portable-sized, interchangeable faceplate New N3DS. The thing with not including a charger is 50/50 opinion wise but only releasing the larger XL edition with zero word on a future release of the regular edition is kind of a slap to the face to America. I mean these things with the faceplates alone is a cash cow, makes no sense to not release them here ASAP.
Yet since the yen got slightly devalued and Amazon and Play-Asia had been slashing prices hard I got two of these bad boys at about 40% off each. I was ready to wait for Nintendo to release them stateside but my gut said Nintendo’s gonna hold their cards, glad I gambled correctly this time.
Well I think I know what some of my tax return money is going to. Dat New 3DS XL. And I was thinking of getting the 3DS XL. Glad I waited.
Picked up two 3DS games yesterday. It hit me that the last 3DS game I picked up was 3DS Smash and that was in October. So I went 3 months without getting a game for my favorite game machine. Anyway, I picked up Ultimate NES Remix and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call. Target has a price drop on TFFCC where they sold it for $30. Ultimate NES Remix has some nice bonuses like being able to unlock Famicom Remix to play the Japanese versions of these games and a turbo version of Super Mario Bros. where Mario is running around like Sonic the Hedgehog.
The New Regular 3DS looks more comfortable to use than the old regular 3DS. Which is good if that’s the case, because the old regular 3DS is an ergonomical nightmare. I’m torn on the bigger-screen-versus-sharper-visuals thing, but the 3DSXL just feels so much better in the hands.
Still not perfect, though. It’s a little bit heavy. If the New 3DS XL feels lighter in the hands, I MAY have to get one at some point. Maybe.
Ultimate NES Remix is curiously addictive to me, and I’ve never been a high score chaser or time trial kinda guy. I’ve been struggling against a couple of other people in some of the Remix stages as well as Super Mario Bros and Kirby stages. I still have no idea how wide the “Regional” tag spans, though. Am I on top in Scandinavia? Western Europe? Wut?
This first one I think I’ve still got the top time on, even though it’s possible to shave a few decimals off here and there for the truly dedicated (in particular the first two areas, which I’ve done better myself). In the second one, it seems I pretty much got the perfect time, which was promptly matched by the two people I keep facing at the top of the lists (axxu and N Star).
Harrumph. Should still have some sort of symbol for the one who got the optimal time first
this amiibo shit has everyone in a panic to pre order anything nintendo.
nintendo making people think they aren’t afraid to discontinue or limit quantities with the simple amiibo.
smart move, nintendo smart move.
i still see the limited edition game being sold out though.
that’s from monster hunter 4.
nintendo has said before they have something in the works for 2d and 3d metroid fans.
also metroid is on the vc console, so who knows if this is a mistake or not.
