I have noticed and been annoyed by this trend, but there’s one other trend that also bothers me: fantasy movies with child stars not featuring anything but caucasian kids. Granted, most of them were based on novels written in places in the real world where there were, apparently, no non-caucasians, and the ones that aren’t based on such novels take place in places where people of color are rare (kinda…New Zealand, Australia…and fantasy lands) but DAMN…bend that shit a little…like they did for Earthsea (Ged, and a bunch of other characters portrayed by caucasians were supposed to be black). I’m supposed to believe that I’m the only black kid who imagined fantastic adventures through mystical countrysides? That every other black person out there only fantasized about being a gangsta, or that they were in the NBA? Is this really what Hollywood thinks? Black people + Fantasy don’t mix, unless said black person is comedic relief (Snails in that DnD movie), and Asians are incapable of being heroes and getting the girl…it seems everybody gets crapped on but hispanics in Hollywood. It does seem like there’s an agenda…how much you wanna bet the main character of Tekken will be some new guy, not based on anyone in the games, and not asian? Tekken is pretty much about the Mishima family…now there’s gonna be a side story.

Both this and the Watchowski movie look like the same fuckin’ movie. I think it’d be cool to see a ninja movie that focuses on a team of ninjas, instead of just one killing machine, and most of the team are fresh recruits and they keep getting killed and fucking things up and shit. I’d see it.

Are you serious? The Forbidden Kingdom was a HORRIBLE movie, and not just BECAUSE of the white guy, the overall plot and direction of the movie was just ass. Even if there wasn’t a white guy in it, the movie would still be stupid.
Can’t make an American martial arts movie without the cliched airplane-landing-on-the-runway shot. Actions scenes look pretty dope in both movies though. Pretty funny how the Asian girl is hanging onto Adkins the whole time while the Asian ninja is all evil and shit.

Forbidden Kingdom was a pretty good movie even with the white kid. And even when the kid got trained, he was still gettin his ass kicked in the movie at least till the end where he beat the bully up.
im def hyped but it gave me wayyyy too much of a ninja gaiden xbox version vibe. maybe thats just me.
after reviewing both trailers…ive come to the conclusion both writers of the two movies were wayyy too into ninja gaiden. way too many references.
