I need to do a run through now with the advanced tutorial or whatever. I’ve only done the beginners one.
I tried the Very Hard mode, which de-equips all my auto-healing, which turned out to be pointless, because as far as I can tell I DIE IN ONE HIT TO EVERYTHING ANYWAY.
No, very hard is literally “die in one hit mode”. It’s not that the damage is high, you just always die if you get hit

Just played the demo. Pretty Platinum games like, probably get on release. Couldn’t real get a big feel for it, hopefully some normal enemies get more interesting later. Bosses always done right by Platinum Games though.

Bootlegs are no good
Still dont understand someone explain to me plz
I cant consistently get the dash heavy to come out even when running forward or holding triangle, much less cancelling it
I’m not exactly sure what problem your having but it sounds like you don’t know it can only be done in the air. Just press heavy and dash at the same time. It’s a little precise so it might take some practice to get it consistently
So youre doing it at the same time. The description made it seem like you cancelled the forward movement of jump, dash + triangle into another dash.
Ive only played the demo twice so far but can you interrupt the mini bot mobs, I have to remember im not playing a dmc game but the regular enemies can actually plow through you trying to mow them down.
is there a movelist i dunno how to do the laser beam attack or the helicopter attack with the heavy sword
Ahhh, yeah to be clear, you jump, do the heavy+dash move, then jump cancel that to get the long jump
Also, the laser is just L1, the game teaches you that during the first buzzsaw fight
is it going to have at least 4 story branches. Nier had about 4. Drakengard has 5, Drakengard 3 only has 4. only Drakengard 1 had profoundly different endings with awesome final bosses. Drakengard 3 also had unique final bosses, sort of, but not as creative as Drakengard 1’s. Drakengard 1 even had a different narrator for each ending pretty much, and ending b has the most insane credits song ever. xD
Why would a stylish action game need multiple story branches unless they were played by different characters?
I feel like the RPG community might be let down expecting this game to have better story than gameplay with Platinum at the helm. Nier was never exceptionally a well crafted game, just an interesting story IIRC? Correct me if im wrong?
This really reminds me of a discussion that took place beack during the DMC5 E3 rumors where ppl said that chapter based games were old fashioned and needed an open world model, which is horrible for these types of games btw.
Ninja Gaiden Black proves open world works just fine for action games.
Ninja Gaiden black wasnt open world. It was sectioned off into large areas, which were still broken into chapters.
And thats not what I mean anyways. Devil May Cry with a Grand Theft Auto esque “go to your next mission at X&Y” thats terrible.
And yet I go anywhere I’ve unlocked in NGB any time I wanted. The entire world was interconnected like a Metroid game. Thats open world. The GTA open world is one type of open world and a narrow way of looking at that kind of concept.
NGBs chapter system is barely a thing since the chapters are quite long most of the time and doesn’t have much of an effect on the games structure after you get to Vigoor. More of way to say you beat a boss and we gonna tally your karma points and give a rank. Thats it.
