I’m making this thread to consolidate the majority of videos I’ve made since before the Capcom 25th Anniversary tournament showcasing various techniques, matchup knowledge, tactics, and character coverages that will help any new 3rd strike player. With more content on the way I plan to update this as often as possible to generate a smooth transition into the game.

I’ve organized this list with characters first and techniques and various knowledge listed in the end (if you’re looking for things like dealing with unblockables, charge partitioning, etc it will be there)

Specific matches utilizing single characters will posted under both characters listings [ex: Me (yang) vs Lavaheart (akuma) will be posted under both yang and akuma]

I personally don’t use it, it’s an ok super in casuals since you can hit confirm it easily (kinda similar to chun’s low forward hit confirm) with st hk but overall you’ll be better off using SA1 or SA3 especially vs higher tier characters/players

Sa3 and sa1 are too good. No reason to choose rolling thunder IMO. Although it does shut down Hugo really well.

Hey Nica. I watched your Urien videos over the past year, and I thought it was some really interesting stuff. What do you think of the matchup between Urien vs Twins? Any chance you are going to create a coverage for those matchups?

Well it’s different for both yun and yang

vs yun, i personally think it’s 6.5-3.5 (yun) because of his normals and mobility. One knockdown in the corner and he can pressure urien with cr.mp on wakeup and even with a defensive parry there’s no real significant punish (it stuff’s headbutt attempts and cr.hp can be too slow/far). Considering GJ, yun has an easy time gaining meter from most scenarios which makes it a problem for urien so the matchup is tough if Urien doesn’t play a strong neutral game

same with yang, except the concept of pressure applies to his slashes

I’ll probably cover this sometime in the next month but i want to be more proficient with urien in those matchups first so it’ll take some time
