Shit, was too late seeing your reply. I had put in Emmanuel Sanders who only got me 9.90 points (5 receptions, 49 RecYds) but will remember Woodhead being perhaps a better option going forward.
By the way, you still reckon Gore being a better option than Woodhead in a PPR league? I’ve followed your advice on put Gore as RB2 so far.
Denver should have had multiple roughing the passer penalties called against them. I know he’s young and huge but rules are rules and should protect everyone.
Also, Trevor made good throws between the 30s but was lucky not to throw a couple of other redzone picks. He looks like Matt Ryan. CJ Anderson and an improved OLine + fullback carried that offence.
That was the one call that was flagged but it got mitigated by his intentional grounding…
There were two hits that didn’t get called that could have, first was when cam first got hurt getting hit from behind and von miller kind of falling helmet to helmet against cam.
Second one most people didnt see but he was running and threw a pass and got H-H in the background.
That isn’t true in the slightest, and it’s because he runs outside the tackle box a lot.
When you do that, you’re considered a runner in most scenarios and thus refs tend to give a LOT more leeway on Helmet to Helmet hits unless they’re absurdly blatant.
It sucks but it is what it is. Being a running QB can bring a lot of advantages but a disadvantage is that defenses will have a lot more impunity to tee off on you.
When you’re a runner, you’re a runner and different rules apply. He’ll take more punishment because of it. He gets treated like a runner in the pocket a lot of the time though. They allow low hits you’re not allowed to do on a passer in the pocket. They don’t call a lot of late hits on Cam either. He definitely doesn’t get the same protection as the rest of the league.
I think that’s the difference and I couldn’t agree more. He’s rolling out of the pocket and getting rocked. But many of those shouldn’t be penalties. You think when Adrian Peterson gets a helmet to helmet hit while running through players he gets calls? Absolutely not.
That in mind, if you think that the former MVP isn’t getting calls in the pocket nuts. There is like 5 QBs that the league treats like glass cannon, Cam is not one of them due to physicality. But he’s still going to get more calls than most of the league.
Cam runs the ball, he’s huge, he’s strong, they treat him like a fullback because of it. Quarterbacks have a certain level of extra protection though to reduce targeting as they’re crucial to a teams playoff hopes. Cam never seems to get that protection
I respect Cam as a player and an athlete but I’m far from being a Panther’s fan and wouldn’t even put Cam in my top 5 for current favourite QBs. Fair is fair though. You don’t have one set of rules for one QB and a different set for a different QB. A flag is a flag. I’m starting to agree with Belicheat that all plays should be reviewable.
Newton has been in the top 3 in roughing the passer several times. He has a total of 22 roughing passer out of 322 he got hit as a passer. He leads the league in roughing passer calls since 2011, that’s including last year when he had 0 calls on him.
Leaders w/ least amount of Rough passer since 2011
Romo 8RP out of 330hits
Flaco 10RP out of 375hits
Rivers 10RP out of 311hits
Eli Manning 11RP out of 355hits
Dalton 12RP out of 278 hits
Peyton Manning 12RP out of 307hits
My boy Wilson got 9RP w/ 363hits. This is pretty telling stat & shows how shitty Seattle Offensive line is for Wilson. This a run first team, yet Wilson gets hit the most by all QBs since 2012.
So you Newton fanboy theory of him not being protected has just been debunked by me.
Yeah i know that’s some bullshit…Im hoping Rawls get the starting job by week 3. Damn i need a RB & WR, i have Bronco’s D for trade if anyone has something to offer in League 2.
