Read an interesting article on Romo and how his stats rank up with the all-time greats. He’s right up there as one of the best ever to play but an endless string of bad-luck had contributed to him having no post-season legacy. Kind of unfortunate really when even Joe Flacco has a ring.
Really it’s Elway’s fault they’re in that situation. He didn’t try hard enough to keep Brock or extend his contract early enough. He didn’t plan for the future enough post-Manning
I may or may not make that draft time. Friday @ night is usually pretty busy lol I usually have no free time but I guess we gotta rock with it if thats what people voted
The whole situation with Kaep reminds me of the Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf situation in the NBA during the 90s. Not that Colin is in any way comparable to the level of talent MAR showed before all of the controversy went down, but what happened to MAR is after the controversy was over, the NBA low-key blackballed him and ended his NBA career without him getting hurt or getting in trouble, even when at the time he was still dropping 16+ a game. MAR continued playing all the way until 2011 overseas so its not like he lost his love of the game.
Whatever happened to “it’s a free country?” It’s silly that Colin’s career is going to end not because of lackluster play (and really, that’s where it was looking like it was going to turn out before all of this), but because he didn’t stand during the national anthem.
As far as I’m concerned, as an American you can wipe your ass with the flag, much less burn it, if that’s your method of protest. Just like, as an American, you can disagree / bitch about the method. So not standing during the anthem is no big deal to me. I don’t stand when it plays before a sporting event on TV, and I don’t get bitched at.
His reasoning for it though, was really, really vague. He talked about concepts like injustice, people dying in vain, oppression of black people, but didn’t give any specifics that would explain what suddenly made him do this, so I have no idea what he’s talking about during all this. Gives credence to the notion that he knows his time as a Niner, or possibly an NFL player, is coming to an end, so he’s doing this just to keep himself in everyone’s mind. I mean I would think that if he had actually thought this through, he’d have attached specific events to what he was talking about instead of just being really, really vague.
I mean go ahead and sit during the anthem. You’ll be sitting anyway after you’ve lost your job to Blaine Gabbert, making you more memorable as the guy who lost his job to Blaine Gabbert.
