I will definitely be recording 3S and CvS2 finals. I’m going to bring my camcorder and enough tapes to record all of the (major) finals. It just depends if I can keep my battery going or find an outlet.
I’ll put them up on Youtube and I’m debating setting up a torrent tracker where you can download all of the videos from each tourny as a single download.
CVS2 is always a question. For most people I think DC CVS2 is preferable. Speed on PS2 is different (faster), and a lot of people don’t like the hitboxes on PS2. Only reason EVO switched I believe was because of lack of equipment/blue sceen problems, neither of witch have been problems around here. Just my 2 cents.
Good move on having 3rd on PS2 as well - XBOX is supposodely faster.

Agreed on 3S. There should be no need to pull any X-Boxs out for this tournament. Plus most people have PS2 sticks only anyway. X-Box anything is a bad idea.
However, I don’t agree on Hyper SF2. Hyper SF2 is a minor game anyway, so I don’t see why everybody can’t get a little extra for their money’s worth.
Have you seen a Super Turbo or Hyper SF2 tourney match?
The average 3/5 round match takes about 4 minutes, TOPS. Not a game, the entire MATCH.
As compared to a single GAME of CvS2 which can sometimes take over 10 minutes…which includes calling people, hooking up sticks, picking teams, deciding on ratio, deciding on order, load times between rounds, etc.
Seeing as we can run the tourney as long as want, and have many, many TVs to work with, time is not an issue.
They can get their money’s worth playing causals. The whole point of a causal area was so people could stay and play after/during the tournie.
CaJunStRiKE: It would be easier to run cvs2 on the ps2 because we have more copys of that at the store, but if people could bring 3 copys of CVS2 for the DC then we could run cvs2 on the DC. 2 will be used for the tournie and 1 for causals. If not it will be ran on the ps2.

Just a quick reminder for everyone:
We have have 3 PS2s (and 1 Swap magic), 2 DCs capable of reading Jap games, 2 Gamecube (region-free) and well enough TVs.
We will have one side of the store set off for tourney matches, and one side set off for any casual games, so there will be no confusion.
If people want CvS2 for DC, be sure to bring a copy, plus enough PS2-to-DC converters. We have one or two in the store, but we need some more, especially if need to run Marvel and CvS2 at the same time. If we don’t enough stuff for CvS2 DC, it will be run on PS2 instead. (We already have PS2 CvS2 in the store). We will probably need an Extra DC for casuals.
We need copies of Marvel. Most local peeps have one, so somebody from Charlotte can take care of that. I have my own copy to bring in case of emergency.
Naruto 4 needs to be brought if we’re doing tourney or casual for it.
3S and Hyper SF2 are taken care of (we have copies in store). I also have my own, just in case.
I will bring my own Alpha Anthology to take of Alpha 3.
Tekken 5 we have in store.
Smash is in store.
Slash, KOF XI, and Neo-Geo will need to be brought. Maximum Impact 2, as well if we want to run it. An extra Jap PS2 or two wouldn’t hurt for some casual games.
If there is any other game you want to show off or play some casual in, be sure to bring it yourself, and your own system just to be safe. We will probably have up to 8 TVs available for casual.
Just curious, are these DC’s able to read burned games? Because I could just make a shit ton of copies of both CvS2 and MvC2 and give them to you guys to hold on to.
I’ll bring a DC with a goblin and all games.

The official start time of the tourney is 1 PM. Registration is closed then. Of course, we all know that it means the tournament proper will start around 1:30-2:00 PM or so 
After the first tourney to start will most likely 3rd Strike, since it’s going to be the biggest)
Re-checking brackets, people settling in, people getting warmed up, making sure everybody’s paid for (we’ll have nice bracelets to mark who’s paid their door fee 
), etc.
And yes, everybody knows DR is better than 5.0, but unless somebody’s willing to buy and lug a DR Cabinet up the stairs into GameLAN’d, there’s no way to actually run a DR tourney. GameLAN’D is a cafe, not an arcade. And what would be the point of running a DR PSP tourney?
