The old stools were made of wood and they broke. Steel ones are on there way.
i dont ever remember there being more than one stool and it was falling apart…Lol… but steel stools sound good…

Since you’re the new manager, how about lower the price on cvs2,mvc2? Or have a special token day or something.
Wow its so great to hear that Tilt is having a new manager who cares about the place. My name is Jason Wang, I’m a 5 feet 6 Chinese kid, very descriptive huh? I’ll say hi the next time I stop by. I’ve been a Tilt player since I was a young kid. I started playing when Street Fighter 2 came out in 1992(approx guess). I’m a freshmen at UCDavis now. So I’ve been playing at Tilt since I was 7 years old. I truely geniunely love the place even though, in my opinion, its been going downhill for awhile. So I have the best interest of Tilt at heart. Although I can’t go there on a strict regular basis anymore, I do go play every weekend or other weekend when I come back.
Some improvements?
- Get Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike (awesome game).
- Get employees who care about the place? I dunno if its just me, but it seems like the people who work at Tilt hate their jobs.
- Fix the joysticks/buttons. The controls always seem to be broken esp on MvC2. and I don’t even get my money back, sigh.
- Tournaments? I’ve been there for 2 separate tournaments. And BOTH times it was posponed and then cancelled. That doesn’t help my confidence in the place.
- In my opinion, since like Mortal Kombat II, I have never consider Tilt as a place for true competitive gamers. Everytime I’ve been there, the quality of competition isn’t quite on par with Milpitas Golfland (I think its because MGL opens at night) and UCDavis (I know its unfair to compare Tilt to a University). Although I still go to Tilt, I spend more of my money at MGL. I usually play MvC2 at Tilt and rarely have I met a guy who could give me a challenge and I’m not even good. Where are all the good players at? Do any of the good players even play at Tilt?! I go on a random basis, time wise, and just seems like nobody besides casual gamers go. The place seems dead most of the time. Usually if there is 5 people playing inside, that’s better than normal. I’m thinking that Tilt, if it wants to, should establish itself as a place where competitive gamers play. It would definitely make the place livelier and help the place a lot because reputation is important.

Thanks for your interest and your loyalty. Please come and introduce yourself to me when you get the chance, I'm the tall dude with glasses and the chrome dome. MVC2 will be going into a big cabinet with 360 joysticks and comp buttons but, as I said, I am running 2 locations and the changes may come slowly BUT THEY ARE COMING. My first priority was to replace the HORRIBLE control panel on SC2.
I want Tilt to be able to field a team to take on MGL and I am actively looking for 3S but they are very hard to find. When I finally find one it too will go into a big screen with 360s. In the meantime, I will make certain the current MVC2 works perfectly.
By the way, all you fighting game fans check out the Fighting Mania I brought in if you haven’t had the chance. I put new professional sparring gloves on and it’s a blast to play. Great for those of you who think DDR is a little strange/fruity.

GJ on putting the gloves. that was a great addition, and it’s a fun game, but i didn’t notice it untill later in the day. maybe you should put it in the front or something. And if i were you , i wouldn’t be taking SVC away, i see a lot of people around that machine. and if you can, add a fan or air conditioning, it was hella hot even though it was cold and raining outside. And i was dissapointed that GGXX wasn’t there on Sunday but i understand. i wouldn’t want to carry expensive stuff in the rain.
and for super turbo, you can try E-Bay/Yahoo Auctions , they usually come out with it every now and then.
GGs to people i played on sunday i might of played you. i’m the guy who sucks, i mostly played with K-Kyo/Blanka/Sagat and K-Kyo/Morrigan/Blanka, but my other teams were A-Vega/Sak/? and K-Chang/x/x I was the Filipino guy wearing white t-shirt and black beanie with glasses.
KOF 2k2 is suitable. Trust me, if any fighting game players coming to the store love SNK, they’d ditch SvC for KOF in a fuckin’ heartbeat.

Yeah, I was there for that crazy stock mindfuck rushdown. Some guys I know had to tag-team on him, but they still lost.
I’m usually around there Fri/Sat at 6PM. I play K-Cammy/Honda/Blanka.
Jus wanted to update ya’ll on some of the new things we have at Tilt. GGXX is back and this time around its a sit down game and we also have VF4: Evo. I’m pretty sure Brian will have them up and running by this afternoon. We also finally have two stools and they’re actually sturdy and pretty damn comfortable, Lol. We expect to get some more in the next couple of months. That’s all I can think of right now so see you guys around.

o and another suggestion. have you ever been to reno? in boomtown? in boomtown they have laminated papers to the side of the screen with codes and stuff. maybe you can add some.

well if I remember correctly Brian told me he ordered something like 6 or so stools. It just they’ll be coming in shipments of two/month. So the rest should be arriving in the next couple of months. And what kind of codes do they have up? Because there aren’t any codes for CVS2 and MVC2 if you mean the character movelists then its there but just kinda hard to see. see you around?

i was at tilt today, the gulity gear machine is nice. the new stools are a new addition. tilt is slowly progressing and should be nice in a few weeks.
gee, i don’t really have a team i stick too, and a style that i stick too also, because i like most characters and like to rush/turtle/run. i used to use guile on every single team, but i haven’t lately because i’m experimenting with other characters.
