1.) It’s been a known fact that Tilt players (not including Newpark employee scrubs) think they have skills. I’m not the only one that has noticed this…we’re talking about the dedicated Tilt scubs here ok…
2.) CVS2 is the only game that currently works there. MVC2’s joysticks and buttons need to be replaced…Damm how hard is it to replace the joysticks and microswitches(It wouldn’t hurt to get some HAPP competetion push buttons for all the fighting games especialy MVC2) As for Soul Calibur 2’s button config. that shit needs a face lift…the worst SC2 button layout I’ve ever seen. I’m not even gunna mention the Tekken Tag and Tekken 4 Control panels…THAT SHIT IS FUCKIN WAK! All sideways and shit…I gotta stand at an angle just to try and pull moves out…AND IT STILL DOESN’T HELP!
3.) Tilt has more OLD games than Nickel City(sarcastic) Replace all those old fighters for some new ones…CVS1?..MVS? Who the hell wants to play that older than dirt crap. YOU GOT RID OF GGXX!!! Name these players please. Also, since you’re the authority on Tilt players, tell me when and how often they come in. In your first post, you addressed all tilt players as “you guys”. I would like to know who you are referring to, because I think that you’re referring to a small subgroup of players that don’t even come to Tilt anymore.
2.) The buttons on MVC2 work. The joysticks work. I’ve changed every damn thing on that cabinet. If something doesn’t work, then let us know and it will get fixed. Let me know and it will definitely get fixed. If you have a problem with the button layouts, then that’s your problem. I cannot replace the button layout on SC2. It would cost too much and I’m not authorized to do things like that. But, the game still works. The buttons are in the same order, they’re just tilted slightly. If you can’t play on it, then that’s your issue. I do just fine on it. I don’t understand what you’re talking about with T4 either. I’ve played on plenty of cabinets that are set up exactly the same way. Right now, it sounds like you’re just doing some petty bickering for no reason at all. Again, if something is broken, then tell someone. Write it on that board at the front. That’s what it’s for.
3.) Yes, Tilt has old games. But, the decisions about what games we get are not made at my level. If I had the option, i’d definitely get different games and i’ve suggested that, but I am a lowly attendant. I do what I can. If you want to talk shit about Tilt’s game line-up, that’s fine. But, just don’t be a moron about it. Games don’t just fall out of trees and it’s not like the suggestions you’ve made are brand new.
Oh, and when did I start hating on MGL? Seriously, I’d like to know.
In case you wanted to know, I stopped going to MGL about a year ago I believe. I stopped going because there was never anyone there to play anything. Every time I went, I would be lucky if I ran into misconception to play CVS2 and literally no one to play MVC2 and this was on a saturday night! It was not worth the driving time and gas money to go to an arcade to play no one. I understand things are different now, but I’m just wondering for how much longer now that EVO has passed. That’s about the time it slowed down last year.
Read my previous post. It also has it’s times when it’s pretty lonely.
Again, I have to ask about the ambiguity of “most players”. I’m pretty sure we’re referring to different groups of people.

The same things happen at every arcade that happens at Tilt. I had been going to MGL for quite some time and can tell you similar stories of days past. You speak of Tilt like it’s the only shitty arcade in existence. Try going to CVGL (the closest arcade to my house) and you’ll find the same problems that Tilt has. All arcades have their good days and their bad days.
I can’t really comment on this as I am not the only employee. I don’t hang out in the back as you say. I hang out in the front unless it’s meal time.
Please, tell me how to get to MGL if I don’t have a car. My point is that Tilt is easily accessible. The only other arcades that are easily accessible by BART are CVGL and Oaktree. CVGL usually has no one to play fighting games except for the token special day, which i understand now is actually three days a week. I was actually just there earlier tonight, and they have SVC and you can’t play on the first player side cuz it won’t take the tokens and the second player side forward doesn’t work. And I wouldn’t want to go to Oaktree, but that’s just me. Oh, and then there’s Time Out at Southland. Believe it or not, but they actually make Tilt look good.

Yes, I am not a tech. But, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to change buttons, sticks, and re-wire them on occasion. When I find out things are broken, I fix them. Otherwise, it gets and “Out of Order” sticker on it.

I was trying to make that point that it is easy to get to Tilt without a car. It is hard to get to MGL without a car. Simple point. If there is an easy way to get to MGL without driving, then say so because more people might go check it out.

Bottom line: If you want something changed, there are ways. But, it takes more than one person to get something like that done. If you have a problem with a broken game, go tell the person on duty. If you can’t find them, then write it on the board at the front and it will get taken care of.

If you play in one area all the time, you allow little room for growth… I’ve discovered that, and I’ve come a long way… Ask Doc B and any of the guys I chill with, or converse with on a regular basis about this game shit!
