That would explain it then. I must’ve worked for an hour and a half this past weekend before giving up 
I’m getting good at getting the LA to hit though, I can do it after psylocke butterflys once in a while too. My biggest problem is because I’m LA’ing due to mashing, I miss it only when I double LA on accident. Slows her down just enough to miss. If only there was something better to do after that hits.
there is something that u can do that will help. during hailstorm u need to mash. and near the end of the hailstorm tap down and both punches simotaniously. this will get u to the ground in a hurry. if u have anymore q’s concerning storm i know a lot about her and i have an above average storm. so feel free to ask any q’s.

After Hailstorm, Storm is in normal jump mode. Therefore you cannot XX the LA into LS.
Well the good news is I play on ps2 so I have a PP button instead of trying to find the two punches in the midst of mashing 
Bad news is I can’t seem to get the LA on command very often at all with my fat thumb, even in normal situations it takes a couple presses of the buttons most the time. 
I know it’s just a practice thing like tiger knee is as well. Is the LA a critical point of storm’s offense to learn or can you still do alot without it?
yeah that PS2 pad isn’t really made for MvC2. but i play the same way one the ps2 controller as i do on the DC. use your index and middle finger. and use your ring for r1 and r2. but your way might be good too. but as for the respons to the LA for offence. you should never rely on one offencive tactic. but the LA is a critical tactic. espically aginst sentinal. and u need it for moving around safely. u should read my thread on storm cross-up. there are some good ones in there!i think it is the last thread on the storm forum.

Thanks for the tips man. The bad news is that I have only a few people in my circle of friends to play against, the good news is none of them understand how to play sentinel effectively. Hell, I don’t even really know much about him. I know I shouldn’t spend all my time learning this on pad because it’ll be impossible to repeat in the arcade but it’s really more for screwin around between friends.
I did figure out while trying to do triangle jumps, if I use the PP button and lk at the same time, she’ll do an LA. It seems alot more consistant for me doing it that way in the middle of a combo
What exactly is a crossup, is that basically dashing to the other side so you’re attacking their back?
Also, what’s a good snapback combo so I can get their assist in the continual launch?
ok. your right about cross-ups. ok and about that snapback thing. i found that no one rolls storms c. lk, lk. so i usually do c,lk, lk, pause snapback, dash foward lk, s. hk (launch assist). and for some reason u really don’t have to pause at all against big characters! and u might not think that it works but practicing good execution on a pad will very much improve your stick skills. u might have some things that u can do on the pad that u can’t on stick and vice-versa. but over all good tactics and execution will help your game a lot.

ohh yeah i don’t know if u use sentinal or not but he is a key member w/ storm. cause u will have versitility if u use him. cause u can cover ALL grounds of counter. i mean i play:
1-storm/sent (gamma)/cyclops
2-storm/sent/capcom
3-storm/sent/cammy
4-storm/sent/doom
and w/ those 4 teams u really can’t counter!
but yeah…so what teams do u play or want to learn??
do u play magnus or cable?

Well, usually I don’t reply on newb post but i feel like slider needs a little lesson in team play of mvc2 basically every team has a counter the best way to not get exploited by the countering team is knowing the weakness of the team for example cable counters that whole string of teams especially if he can knock out storm quick then its a done battle. If u have a mag that is good, mag will counter sent and the assist. scenario: storm/sent/? vs mag/storm/psy starting mag vs strorm first chance mag starts and infinite he will snap out storm gaurdbreak the assist and dismantle him/her then guardbreak sent kill him gaurdbreak storm kill her :eek: sad but tru i can tell from ur post that u don’t play much go thru shoryuken and find someone that can give u match vids of ur fav team i believe there is some out there for the teams that u listed. ------Good Luck!!!
ok i don’t know how u eastcoast players do it. but u DON’T play cable aginct storm that is foolish! and sent ownz cable. and what r u an elite or what cause storm/sent is the best counter to MSP! lol i don’t need a lesson. u need to get your tiers and counters in order. and tell me what r the chances that storm will get owned by magnus?!?!?!?!?:lol: its all right though. post a thread on what i have said in the general strats and see what kind of response u get! i mean u say that cable and mags counters those teams! tell me u don’t rely on just snapbacks. cause any of those top tier assists w/ sent gamma ownz. ask genghis i have seen him ocv good players w/ capcom bein snaped in! ok so see ya in general strats! if u want to see who is right!!!:lol:

actually storm doesnt out right own cable…although the matchup is in her favor 60-40 and sent vs cable its usually 60-40 cables favor…but i do agree with u on one thing…storm/sent/aaa beats the shit outta msp imo…i mean there always the chance mag snaps out the assist and kills him/her BUT the mag has to be very precise and be on their ass so they wont get a chance to dhc out…now that scenario is if mag hits…if storm hits in the storm/sent team then thats one GUARANTEED death then u have sent/aaa to clean up while fighting storm…and then that aginst a psylocke…yea u get the picture… and also incognegro is right about every team having counters and usually a good cable/sent/aaa team beats those theam u posted up there…cable juss has to have good defense and try not get killed by dhc of death…once he acomplishes killing storm…it shouldnt be TOO hard killing sent…

I really don’t play alot of cable, though I do know how to use him. Reason being like I said, it’s more just a group of friends I play against and they aren’t good at blocking ahvb’s. I just tend not to use him because I still want them to want to play. I’ve been trying to learn mags, it’s a bit of a learning curve but it’s coming along. I’m still trying to get the HGT in an air combo to hit but they fall down way before HG comes out it seems. Maybe I’m not using the right air series or something. But this question prolly belongs in the mags forum anyways.
I also try to play sentinel, i say try because i genuinely suck a$$ with him. I’m still trying to sort out unfly and what the hell that means But for now I was playing more MSP and other random teams, like i said it just to screw around with rather than dominating all of my friends to the point they won’t play anymore.
I’ll try that crossup and snapback stuff for storm.
uh yo animal i think i read a page earlier that you play on ps2, well if you havent bought a arcade style pad fo it yet and you want an easier way to do stuff that requires lk and fp at the same time if you press r1 and r2 in the air it automatically activates stuff like smart bombs and lighting attacks which is where they should be used any way.
It doesnt work on the ground becasue i guess tagging in characters has more priority then moves, but you cant tag them in if your airborn so thats what i used to do.

You just do lightining attack in whatever direction you want. Just hit the direction you want as you do LA. Unless I’m misunderstanding the question, I don’t think it was necessary to make a new thread just for this.
