[Newbie] Shoryuken Command

Forgive me for my ignorance, but I barely remember SF since the last I played was on my SNES about 8-10 years ago and recently bought SSF IV AE. But as far as I remember, using a Shoryuken consisted of a semi-circle.

Yet, I can only activate it when I do 2 down-foward quarter-circles or foward-down-foward which is the same command for Ryu and Ken’s Supers and sometimes Ultimates depending on which is picked.

This is pretty annoying since I’m doing the trials to learn how to play but end up using the wrong move… over and over… which may just be me button mashing, but even in the training where I have button push enabled, I see that what I hit isn’t any different for each move.

Ok, just tap forward and do a hadoken motion quickly afterwards. Works every time for me.

Shoryuken is is a Z-Motion. Forward, Down, Downforward; :f::d::df:.
The input is very lenient in SF4 so you can as well do a bigger Z (Back-Forward-Downback-Down-Downforward), just a Forward+Quartercircle, etc
