Newbie guide: Venom PS4 / Mayflash V2 Full Sanwa (/Seimitsu) Mod with Octo for £116 [UK Pricing]

This should be the same!

Just modded mine. Thanks for the post. I think newer versions of the Venom don’t have the button names on the plexi since mine has them on the artwork.

Indeed, mine bought a few weeks ago had the button labels only on the artwork. Not a big deal but a small word of warning to anyone doing their art before they get their stick

Thanks guys I’ll update the main thread later today

I’m in need of template, but the link isn’t working. Help pls! :shy:

Top guide & thanks again… After a week of using the stick in stock form I could wait no longer and have just finished it. Hardest part, trimming the bloody artwork urgh!!

Done with mine too! Thanks for the guide, and sorry for the bad lighting on the picture… Don’t know what I was thinking;

Thanks for the guide. Waiting for my stick and parts as we speak.

Hello! I’m totally new with this, I’ve just ordered a Venom Arcade Stick and I’m going to order the parts and mod it by following your guide. It looks really easy the way you’ve set it up. Thanks for that.

Just two little questions.

First:
I just need one 5Pin 2.54mm Pitch Female to Female JST right? I’m just verifying because you linked to a set of 5 in your list. The other website you used for all the other parts also sells them per 1:

So do I need multiple? or is 1 enough? I’d rather buy it all at one store to save shipping costs.

Second:
For the joystick there’s an option to include a JLF-H Cable for additional cost. Do I need that? Or is that present in the Venom Arcade Stick? I know this question has been asked, but it just said you need one for installation. I’m not sure if one is already available in the Arcade Stick, or that I need to add it to my purchase. Since you linked to arcadeworlduk.com for all the parts, maybe you can clarify these little options for that site for the total noobs like me :).

Thanks for the help!

One cable is enough, provided it works.
For your second question, no, you don’t need that since the female to female connector replaces it.

I’ll get a couple of the connectors then, they’re pretty cheap anyway. It’s probably a good thing to have spare.

Thanks a lot, really appreciate it.

Finally got my parts today (took a while because they ran out of stock) and I just finished modding my Venom Arcade Stick with your guide. It was really easy, the hardest part was cutting out the art :p.

Thanks for making this easy for us new guys!

Here’s the result:

Nice mod  I’m glad the guide helped.

im modding a different stick, but a couple questions

where do you get your art printed from in UK?

whats the best method to cut the button holes (i want to put art in sanwa clear buttons)

The best method is to use a circular cutter, something like this:

http://www.hobbico.com/tools/hcar0230-main-lg.jpg

I’ve used this thing and the holes are just perfect! You just have to find the middle of the holes by yourself wich is pretty simple: my method is to mark two parallel lines of the same size one at the top and one at the bottom of the circle and then join them (it will be a cross) and you’ll find the middle

K thx

This artwork is awesome! This is the stylised version of the Shadaloo logo, right? Any way you can send this over?

I heard the Hayabusa won’t fit in this case because of the position of cable compartment. Is there an easy way around this?

Kinda weird that Hori’s stick won’t fit considering this stick is supposed to be the Chinese version of the Hori Fighting Edge. I guess I can still test out the Kuros on this stick.

pretty sure it does but it won’t be as easy as just switching parts. check out the venom thread, I know it’s there.

Thanks for the link, that helped a lot. Now if only the Hayabusa wasn’t sold out on Focusattack.

Just to be sure, these two are the same thing right?
