Newbie guide: Venom PS4 / Mayflash V2 Full Sanwa (/Seimitsu) Mod with Octo for £116 [UK Pricing]

You don’t have to buy anything

Ok, I’m just pointing out a mistake in this guide.

What mistake? This is what the OP (sinetwo) did to his stick and he documented his procedure of modding his stick.
Most people end up completely replacing the buttons on their stick ether to what they feel is better buttons or colors of buttons they prefer.
You aren’t pointing out anything or being very clever. If you have nothing of value to add please refrain from posting.

Sorry I’m not trying to be clever but at the beginning of the guide he asks for any corrections, I’m only trying to help him get he’s guide correct, it clearly states you’ll need 6 Sanwa buttons but he changed 8 of them, what have I done wrong in telling him this?

That is because most fighting games will never utilize all 8 buttons, you only need 6 of them.
Some people even get button hole plugs for the extra two button holes.
6 is the minimum you need.

Also, the word “That” is in between asterisk’s so he’s clearly showing he means the ken from the picture (SFIV Ken) isn’t in Street Fighter V.

Thanks for clarifying sure_you_can  That model of Ken was taken from an artwork from SF VS Tekken.

Also, you can replace 1 button and keep 7 if you’d like, that’s completely up to you.

Ok thanks for the Ken info.

I get that, I was only reading as a Noob to modding and thought it was strange that you said buy 6 but you changed 8, it’s just a bit confusing if your new to all this. Good guide by the way.

This is a very helpful guide, especially because the links you’ve provided are great for people living in the UK. Thanks! :3

What is the actual size measurements of this stick, length by width. Trying to get a feel for the size in comparison to an original red and white sf4 TE stick. Also is it comfortable for playing on your lap ?

great guide thanks, decided i’ll give it a whirl for my first modded stick.

This is my first and only stick. Now to practice with SFV!

It won’t by be my first stick, but it will be my only modified stick. I missed the boat on the UK pre-orders for madcatz sticks. But thought it would be a good experience and I can personalise it to my own taste.

Ordered this stick from game and gonna grab the other bits now, should be able to get it done for next week, provided the rest arrive in time.

Great guide, but really, unless ou absolutely have to, avoid Octo gates like the plague.

He did say it was optional  Some people prefer it, it’s also better for some other games that aren’t street fighter!

Sweet, post your stuff when you mod it

I personally hated the square gate, the travel distance to the corners were iiiiiiiisj. But again, I’d recommend as with all parts that you go with what you prefer. It is after all you using the stick, and not the internet on your behalf

I’ll be sticking with the square gate, its all i’ve ever known… Looks like i’ll be running stock until arcadeworlduk get some more sticks in :s

arcadeworlduk also now stock the female to female cable: http://www.arcadeworlduk.com/products/jst-xh-female-to-female-connector-cable.html

Nice! I ended up getting mine off eBay as they didn’t have any in when i needed it. In fact I don’t even think they stocked it when I wrote the guide?

Good find for all the UKayans on the thread.
