Newb to sf comic

I wanted to start getting the SF comics but had a few questions.

If I got the SF : The ultimate edition book, where does it actually end in terms of the comics? So I know what volume to continue getting the comics from.

Also I read in another thread someone waited 8 weeks to get their book. Is the usually the case? 8 weeks seems pretty excessive.

Does udon comics have some monthly thing you can sign up for where they’d send you the comics each month, or do you pretty much have to go to your local comic store / another place online to get them?

The Ultimate Edition books covers all of Street Fighter (not II), including the Summer Special, Back-up stories, etc.

As far as the whole monthly thing, you have to go to your local comic store for that.

Maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to have a sticky thread that explains what we’ve got so far in case people want to go back and buy the old issues, or maybe just an overall FAQ thread. Udon is kind of killing their own hype/buzz with all these delays and that actually makes it easier to find good deals on old issues in comic book shops and places like ebay.

The official SF Comic website has a complete listing:

(click on the “more” button to go back to earlier issues)

There were two main Street Fighter volumes. Volume one is 15 issues (numbered 0 through 14) plus the Summer Special that Dark Delita mentioned. (Almost) every issue had a backup story done by a guest artist, and these are also included in the Ultimate Edition. There are also some miscellaneous 4-page promos that they ran in a couple of magazines, but i think those are also included.

After that, they changed the name to Street Fighter II and have released 4 issues (numbered 0 through 3). We are all awaiting issue 4 and that’ll happen when it happens. On top of that, there’s a Street Fighter Legends mini-series focusing on Sakura that’s on its second issue right now.

So once your Ultimate Edition arrives, you just have to look into the SFII series and pick up the Sakura spinoff if you’re interested.

To my knowledge there’s no subscription service direct from Udon, but if you go to any (half-decent) comic book store, they’ll offer a service where they set aside every issue of whatever series you want every month. Good luck.

Thanks maj, that cleared up a ton of questions. I already ordered the ulimate edition, and the SF:L looks pretty sweet so I’ll probably pick that up too.

and someone should create a FAQ!
