New Years Resolutions 2013 aka "I thaw da word wz gonna end cuz"

Are you listening to evil music again?

My goals for this year? Not too much. Mostly a continuation from last year…

Get a car. I’m looking at the Kia Soul.

Get a better house. I just need a bigger castle.

Get in shape. You know what’s up. never too old to get healthy.

Learn the ways of making money. I have a steady little income that allows me some cash for such experiments. $RK MILLIONAIRES BABY!!!

Travel. It’s time to get out of the house…WAY out. Not sure if I should visit states I haven’t seen yet, or countries. Probably countries.

That’s about what I want to get done in 2013. How’s about the rest of you?

-Starhammer-

For me it’s less about them being wrong for it and more about the level of motivation. Saying “I’m going to lose more weight this year” is a noble goal, but it doesn’t show how serious they are. It’s usually just another thing on a list of resolutions that may or may not get met. On the other hand, when someone goes “You know what, I’m putting my foot down and taking better care of myself right now!” it shows that they’re legitimately concerned about getting their health in check. Now if you happen to put your foot down at the end of December, that’s cool, there’s nothing wrong with that. I was talking less about the serious people and more about people that do resolutions passively.

No, that’s completely different. There’s stuff that’s out of your control time-wise, and they have to get taken care of ASAP. I’m just talking about people who deliberately wait until the new year to change stuff that could have been worked on at any time, and then they drop it after a month because they weren’t serious to begin with.

I’m not much into resolutions, but here’s what I’d like to get done this year:

  1. Actually put some effort into my studies. My 6th year of university was pretty slack, so I’ll try to get back into form during the 7th.
  2. Get back into making games. Not really sure why I stopped, but it’s time to get back on the bike,
  3. Start running again. I want to get my half-mile time down by a fair bit, and hopefully run a few 5Ks before the end of the year.
  4. Go from mega-scrub FG player to slightly-better-than-mega-scrub FG player.

Post less than I do now.

I helped win the last mafia I was in, and I was ranked B…

So you have to be gdlk to be S… I liked how I basically telling yall to eat shit and like it at the end though…

Fux wit me lol…

So yeah, my new year’s resolution is being less awesome… I can’t help myself sometimes…

I plan to post less myself, especially on social media.

Other than that, I don’t do resolutions, not knocking those that do them tho. I just hope I get more accomplished this new year, I been slacking hard

I got what you were getting at - and some of my venom towards it has to do with what I know is coming down the line on ‘social media’ as people fill it up with plans/goals, and then in retaliation there will be an equal push against people who do it - than with your exact post, but I still stand by what I said…

ESPECIALLY as someone who’s morbidly obese - but has also been very fit previously - and worked at a gym as a personal trainer…it is HARD to lose weight - especially if you have a full life and have never done it before. Lets keep it real - the average person who goes to the gym does not know what they are doing and are going with the intent of losing weight or building muscle. The average person does NOT know that the first 3 weeks of lifting weights (not cardio, but lifting), you build NO muscle, they simply restructure themselves to support the strain - the result is a month of working out and you barely (depending on genetics of course) notice results (visibly). The folks who go in on pure cardio are only burning calories while working out, and as they are trying to adjust their schedules - aren’t putting in HOURS of cardio, maybe one - and thus don’t get the weight loss they hope. Then people see the fat folks on TV who lose large amount of weight (not knowing early on most of it is actually water weight) and get discouraged.

Getting discouraged w/o any visible results make it easy to stop. Its at that point that the people around you become the support you need to keep going. The folks who stick to the gym are the ones who make friends at the gym or bring them…so honestly, those ‘half-motivated’ people aren’t half motivated but ignorant and not supported. HELP THEM. Be social while waiting, help them out, it can slow down your own progress a little bit, but its really for the best. I’ve watched it. Hell, once I was no longer working out with people, I stopped - so its first hand. My wife loss a TON of weight working out with someone, and then completely fizzled once the other lady couldn’t make it. Too bad her and I don’t work out well together - she’s a swimmer and I’m a lifter/b-ball.

But I just wish people would stop the attitude of being ‘annoyed’ with resolutions and truly support them. If my wife says she wants to relearn the violin this year, then I’ll help. If my next door neighbor is trying to rehab his leg, I’m gonna try and help him get that done.

Unreallystic with that positivity. I’d like to see more people adapting that kind of thought process in 2013.

The Love Movement.

Just going to continue on with some of the life changes I made this year. No smoking, exercising and eating healthy & organic foods. I started cooking a lot this year. I’m enjoying the food aspect, I started eating healthy when I quit smoking, combination of the 2 really gave me a lot more energy and that’s been quite addictive.

This year, I got a home, a new whip, finally got my motorcycle license and a bad ass 600cc super sport. I also realized I can’t be in stress full work environment anymore, so with the good, also had the bad, and I’ve been un employed since August.
Next year I do have some plans; finding a stress free job that takes care of the essentials and a little extra on the side. Also I want to continue my motorcycle riding, and save up for racing gear, and get into a couple track days. I would also like to kick cigarettes for good.

Its got to be like that, I hate ot sound like a 6’6" Carebear - but we’ve got ot love and help each other to improve. People act as though major changes are easy or just a switch - but once you’ve really started life got a wife/kids/full time job - its not just a switch - its a balancing act - and if soemthing is making the balance even harder to maintain and you get nothing from it - you just drop it…its natural. You need someone with a free hand to stick it in every now and then to help keep it moving. I mean I look at fighting games for me. I LOVE them. Its how I got ‘here’, but I don’t have the time anymore to ‘train’ to be competitive. Whats the point in even GETTING a fighting game if when you hop online you get roasted because you havne’t been able to train? Its not fun to always lose…but that’s what happens when you don’t get to practice…or by the time you practice - the shits out of date and obsolete (you can mash out of grav/tempest gasp hahaha)…so for me? I’ve ‘retired’, not because I want to, but because I can’t balance it all. The only way I could would be if I had a friend who was doing the samething that I could train with…that extra hand if you will…again - support.

Better yourself and the next man…

We got my father-in-law the ‘water vapor’ cigarettes for Xmas, dunno if its good or not though. We just need him to kick that habit, he’s got grand-kids now.

  1. Get out of China.
  2. Finish my novel, start shopping it.
  3. Find a reason to smile daily, #1 might be helpful in doing so.

Made a lot of progress in 2012, but I am really hoping 2013 is the year I utterly destroy mankinds faith in humanity.

I believe in you, Kim Jong-un.

Man I feel like this year went too fast it was like a blur:

Pretty much my 2013 is to Avenge my 2012 lol.

2012:
Was on the cusp of being as debt free as possible but then got into a terrible accident at the top of the year.
The worst part was I just paid off the car 5months prior smdh.
Debt pilled up from having no car and being away from work for awhile.
Lost a couple friends during this time cause I saw who was real.
Back was pretty fucked up from said accident…but got my Batman on and recovered.

2013:
Stop bullshitting and pay off that very last of my student loan
Get back into shape
Pay off all and every small debt i have to have more income i can save.
Have way more fun and me even more hyped up!! cause 2012 took some fun away

I’m more of a Stalin/Hatsune Miku type oppressor.

But those Jong’s man…its illegal to NOT have their picture up in your house. Don’t you want that? If I’m gonna oppress people, they are going to wake up and bow to me E’erday.

The haters are in full effect on social media. A bunch of “If you wasn’t shit in 2012, you probably won’t be shit in 2013, a new year won’t change you”. Seeing Unreallystic’s post just now was a breath of fresh air. Too much negativity over people trying to motivate themselves to do better. Sometimes I say that I’m rich and successful (although its not currently true) to motivate myself, so I see what some people are getting at.

Why does it bother so many people to see another person make an attempt at greatness?

Well, once it is no longer cost prohibitive to have a holographic projector in each and every household, every morning the citizens of earth will wake up to a 2 and a half hour long virtual pop idol concert and will be required, by law, to partake in the dance routines dedicated to your glorious, moe leader.
