NEW XCM Cross Fire Adapter - PS3 Controllers on Xbox 360! (Now on Sale)

xcm crossfire converter

I just got it in. Seems lagfree with sixaxis but everyone already knew. Tested it with this> http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/zz-p3-contadap converter + dual shock2/saulabi stick seems lagfree also. Cant seem to find my InPin converter to test that 1 too.

does anyone know if it works well with the hrap3 or the TE?

I have accually. As I only own the MADCATZ street fighter SE stick I tested only that one. As replied earlier by other members I can confirm that the stick does not respond. I have also tested it with a ps2>usb converter + saulabi PS2 stick and I can confirm it works without noticeble lag.

What’s the verdict on using it with an inpin converter + HRAP2: SA?

Seriously, Markman needs to start testing these PS2/PS3 to X360 converters at SDTekken. Especially with BlazBlue coming this month, and T6 this fall. Sure, people here will say it worked with “no noticable lag”, but markman’s testing is far more thorough than anyone elses, and he has access to test a LOT more equipment.

I have BlazBlue right now for X360, should be getting a PS3 one soon… I would have kept up/tested sooner but I’ve been busy lately with E3 and all these other projects/traveling. I’ll try to do something soon cuz I know this is important for everyone.

Thanks for the update markman! If you could test this with the inpin converter and hrap 2/Hrap2: SA(I’m assuming they’re the same other than the buttons) it’d be GREATLY appreciated!

I’m just getting worried because a lot of my friends play their fighters on x360 and I’d like to be able to play with them too, but the x360 pad is a BIG no-no.

Does anyone can confirm if it works with the TE PS3 please?
Thanks

(please note this is a rant and the answer is NO it doesnt work) :nono:

hi all, first post had to be a rant, been lurking for a while…street fighter newcomer (obv played SF2 on SNES but i was young)…loving SF4, ive actually stopped buying any other games, its just immmmense and saving me money (although this arcade stick buying business is costing enough :frowning: )

Well, I searched the net high and low to find out if anyone out of 6 billion of us had actually bought this strange, almost unsupported piece of sh1t and plugged this into an xbox with a TE on the other end. for some reason no one had and so i crossed my pinkys and bought it from Hong Kong…50 down…

anyway…no it doesnt work…the instructions are a little simple and there are no buttons other than the turbo/tilt switches. So…and this is where i might be n00bing up…my assumption is you plug it in and it works…i could be wrong…doubt it tho…

I tested a few devices through the XCM CrossFire adapter (I know the xbox periphs are pointless but its just to test it working)

Plug in PS3 controller via USB -> Logo turns blue and works
Plug in XBOX360 controller via USB (for windows one and xbox 360 (im not even sure there is a difference)) -> Turns Green and works (obviously)
Plug in Madcatz SE XBOX360 (with Sanwa swap of course :lovin: ) -> Turns Green and works (obviously)

:annoy: Plug in Madcatz TE PS ‘i have no fukin ram and my hardrive is connected via a 18.8 baud modem equivalent speed wire and run sf4 with worse gfx than xbox even tho im a super computer’ 3 -> Turns Blue…and…DOESNT F-IN WORK!:hitit:

ps if your thinking Logitch G25…I have that also…nope, no forza :arazz:

anyway…i have one, its in the UK, anyone want to buy it!!!

There must be some rubbish reason it doesnt work…i mean surely the TE is sending the same signals down the wire for the buttons as the ps3 controller. could it be maybe something like one is grounded differently (if that even works) or has more current or some jibberish… maybe the lack of three simulatenous direction inputs (2xanalogue + pad) screws the simple minded crossfire circuit board or something. i dont think there is a special chip in the ps3 pad like the xbox super lock down? i have no idea about this sort of stuff. all i know is that im angry…

re-reading this i sound like a child…hell fk it…im at work and have other stuff to do

thanks for skipping…

AlzPatz where abouts in the uk are you? if I can try it with my cthulhu and it works I’ll buy it for sure

Im in London mate, Ill go out a limb and trust you and send it up for you to test…

I guess I would pretty much ask for what i bought it for, but atleast you can send it back to me if it doesnt work.

let me know your thoughts anyhow

Awesome sounds good to me. I’ll PM my address. Out of interest where did you buy it from?

coolio… i got it from Renchi Import Games

http://www.renchi.com/renchi/Xbox_360_Accessories_Cross_Fire_Converter_XCM.htm

Itll be in the post soon.

Legendary thanks!

This definitely doesn’t work for the PS3 MadCatz TE sticks.

I just got my XCM Cross Fire yesterday afternoon and even went out to go and buy a wired controller because I did not realize that a Play & Charge kit connected to a wireless controller (with no battery kit in so that it doesn’t simply turn on as a wireless controller) would not work as a substitute. As soon as I got back from the store, I wired everything up, and had no success getting the TE’s to work.

I may as well have bought a TE stick for my 360 as opposed to spending ~$105 (CDN, play-asia.com with shipping) for the Cross Fire, and then another ~$55 (CDN) for the wired controller.

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME UNLESS YOU PLAN ON USING A PS3 CONTROLLER.

PS. This does not work with my PS3 Logitech Driving Force GT wheel either. Maybe I am doing something wrong?

ok so two have confirmed that this is a piece of sh1t (well it does do what it says, lets you use ps3 controller) but does not work on SE, TE and G25 Wheels. End of…

$105!!! ouch.

Have confimed it does not work with cthulhu board. UNW4NT3D, if you got any details would be cool.

this is interesting

Cant it be same tactic to activate ps3 sf4 fightstick TE as to activate a ps3 pad?

Mabye u need to plugin a x360 sf4 TE stick first and then plug in the ps3 stick to get it working?

If u just plug in a ps3 controller direcly it wont work either.

Just something to think about

Hi guys, im fairly new to this Tech Talk section of srk, but i’d like to know if this is the current “best” adapter for ps3 dualshock pads to play on xbox.

Also, is there an inverse adapter around? One to use the -ugh- xbox pad on ps3?

I would like to hear your imput on the matter, since i am a ps3 dual shock pad player and im in dire need of something to help me close the gap against xbox players, be it at some friends house or at a tournament.

Thanks in advance.
