New Update once again check it out tournament still happening at Pepperbellys, Fairfield CA Oct.29

is this 21 and up?

um im pretty sure everyone is allowed, also im going to check the pre-sign ups tomorrow we need alot so ill post when I see how many we have.

tourneys with weird rules like this end up being disasters, all ?s need to be answerd so ppl feel comfy participating in the tourney some ppl feel like this tourney is trying to make money off the community.if 50 ppl show up for both tourneys you guys will be making a good amount of profit while 2nd and 3rd place go home with nothing, but 1st place will take home 250 each? its yall event and im down to support but if ppl think your tryna scam the players they just wont show.changing dates was fine but then splitting the pot in half changes alot.plz post if the tourney will be going down or not i dont wanna plan to go to this even and then you guys cancel at the last second

First things first we are not trying to scam anybody we just thought we would attract more people with a bigger pot but if you guys want to do the 1st 2nd and 3rd thing that is fine we were just trying something different. Second the splitting of the pot was something that the community suggested and sounded like a good idea so once again we were trying something different to see if it worked out. If you guys want the vanilla which is the same ol tourney like all the other ones that is fine with me just like I stated before we were trying something different and I apologize if you guys don’t like it that is why im asking for your opinion so we can make this right. I want to make this fun and maybe a monthly thing and want it to be successful so any input would be great. Let me know what you guys want and I will make it happen also like I said before we need pre-sign ups, I will find out if the tourney is happening today or tomorrow or if it is going to be postponed like a week or two so we could get more people but the pre-sign ups are important.

Just think about this for a minute, you are asking the community to sign up and commit to going to an event that is not guaranteed to take place. No wonder people are hesitant on signing up.

And you keep asking people to sign up or else it may not take place, you even mentioned this may be postponed a week or two until a certain up sign up criteria is met, yet nobody knows exactly what that number is.

This is going in circles. As long as there is no definite date and/or you allude to postponement, the community folks will continue to postpone on signing up also.

If you want this to go down, 2 options. I recommend #1:

  1. Guarantee the event will go down regardless of sign ups. If the date/rules/prize of the event is clear and certain, people will make plans to attend.
  2. Clearly lay out the criteria for the event to take place or not and make the sign ups visible so people see all activity and know exactly what to expect. Example is the tourney will take place on Dec XX as long as 20 people sign up by Nov XX. Otherwise, the event is canceled. Be sure the signup list visible. That way by the time Nov XX hits, people know what to expect.

As it looks now, it seems the owner/organizer is just waiting for the magic sign up number so he or she doesn’t lose much money from the event. This will get nowhere. This thread was started on Sept 15th. Right now it is Oct 25th, more than a month after the initial post with still no final date. Please finalize on the event by Nov 15th or else this thread will be closed.

Check the update guys, this should work out and make everyone happy.

well no one replied but I hope to see some of you there.

I’ll go, this is the only thing I can actually get to and come back from by bus.

Hi everyone, this is the entertainment manager from Peppebellys. I’m really excited to build a relationship with Bay Area gamers; I think we have a beautiful venue and it could host some pretty big tournaments in the future. Unfortunately, I guess we got off on the wrong foot, or confused foot at least.

I’m going to go ahead and assume very few people will show up today because of the confusion, so for those who do show up, it will be $7 entry, nothing towards the venue, winner takes all. No $250 or $500 cash prize this time. I would love to do that in the near future.

I talked to someone named Tinh yesterday, I apologize for not returning your call, I set your number down and with 200 people running around, it was lost. But he gave me some insight into the community. Once again, I apologize for the confusion. Next tournament we will do, will be better organized. And i’m definitely taking ChoiBoys advice. Sounds like you guys have these tournaments figured out.

Anymore questions, my email is David@pepperbellys.com
