New Update once again check it out tournament still happening at Pepperbellys, Fairfield CA Oct.29

What are the exact numbers needed for this tournament to happen? Details would help.

I’ll check it out.

Yeah if it hinges on us posting feedback here in the thread then count me in - not going to pass up $500.

Yes this hinges on people actually posting on the thread that they are going to come

Is there a specific number of people - ie, a minimum entrant requirement - required for the $500 pot? “A lot” is kind of fuzzy info.

Yeah a number would help to generate more interest.

Also, in the OP it says “$7 entry fee $2 to the venue” That suggests that the other $5 is going somewhere else. Is there a pot on top of the $500 guaranteed? Because if not it would be more clear to just state “$7 entry, $500 prize to first place”.

no there is no pot on top of the $500 but it is what you said $7 entry and $500 first place. I know it sounds crazy but we are looking for 40 to 50 people because we want this place to be a nice place for gamers to come and hang out and do tournaments as well. We would like to hold a monthly tournament for different games or multiple games or whatever. This area does not really have a place like that aside from ramnation and we know the people want more.

Yeah awesome idea and I know the venue is great. 50 people is definitely doable especially with a 500 dollar prize. I’ll be there and we will see who else shows up.

tight thanks

Just going to say IMO more people will show up for mvc3.

well maybe that will be the next tournament or we will do one for launch day for UMVC3

Just to make it explicitly clear -
1st Place $500
2nd Place $0
3rd Place $0

is this correct?

$$$$ ^^

Check the update guys and let me know what you think

Where’s that $8 going? And that $250 per game is unconditional?

What do you mean? All the money is going towards the pot, it was originally $500 for the winner of SF but now we are going to split it for each game. $250 to the winner of the SF tourney and $250 to the winner of the marvel tourney. What is your question and how do you see it unconditional?

Thanks for the reply. My questions were basically

  1. “Where is the $8 going to?” because I was unsure about what it was for and
  2. “Is the $250 per game unconditional?” because I’ve seen tournaments advertised with guaranteed pots regardless of the number of entrants unable to pay out the promised amount due to less entrants than expected.

For example, if 14 people showed up for Marvel and 14 people showed up for SSFIV, would 1st place for each game still get $250?

Im pretty sure the pot is guaranteed but let me check with the owner, The one thing I do know is that we have to have people pre-sign up through the provided e-mail or this is not going to happen because he wants to make sure people are coming.

so no one interested?
