C-Kyo:cool:

c guile belongs way up there with blanka and sagat a good 1 is really trick to beat man

Ive never seen a really good C-Guile yet, though that Sonic Hurricane shit is sick

more like 2 of the a-grove players used rolento (and one of them had blanka and bison on their team already, and the other was teaming with an a-blanka/hibiki/bison and ā€œteam basā€ player). you can’t tell how good they are… maybe their teammates picked up the slack (not that hard with those teams!).

Possibly. But the question was whether or not top Japanese players used Rolento in A-groove. I know one of the qualifiers (the A-geese/rock/rolento) qualified in last year’s singles CvS2 SBO tourney.

The main point I was trying to bring up is that a-groove rolentos are still being played in Japan.

o and jsut watch daigo for the best C-guile ever and john choi also is good

Every character is played in Japan, just more good Japanese players use him in C because he’s better in it, for the points previously stated.

Campbell basically already said this, but C-Rolento is better than P IMO because he has one of the game’s best alpha counters-one of the reasons, combined with stuff above, that I think makes C the best groove for him. If you block his alpha counter, you are in blockstun forever(I’m sure Campbell can check the book and supply us with the frame data). A lot of Rolento people sleep on his alpha counter but it is extremely abusable. If it hits, you are knocked down. Either way, huge advantage for Rolento. Parry is nice but it can’t really be used as a ā€œget the fuck off me moveā€, if you will watch good P-groove players you will almost never see them using parries that way-parry is an OFFENSIVE maneuver not a defensive one. You use option select parries to fill gaps in your offense. You can’t use parries to wake up or to get people off of you consistently-you are setting yourself up to get mixed up and killed with huge combos(risk reward is not at all in your favor in these situations). Low jump strong is nice with Rolento but not really important. C just caters to him completely-all the things that C loses he doesn’t need and all the things it gains cater directly to his play style.

i’ve actually gotten into rolento a great deal lately, and i’m kinda leaning towards P-rolento as being a little better. it just seems that being able to parry covers up some of rolento’s biggest weaknesses.

for example, he can now deal with all crossups and certain jump in angles that he usually couldn’t cover by being able to parry. plus dashing and low jump together are perfect. his option selects are pretty damn safe, and he’s pretty much the perfect P-groove character on paper (along with cammy). and a parry should just about always lead to crouching mk into pipe twirls.

C and P are his best 2 grooves, but i think P might have a little bit of an advantage.

More and more im realizing ur rite C is better but i still love A:D
