daily shower inspection? Yeah, this is a good idea, I’d be down, but I pretty much only work weekends
I would much prefer the trip thing, but it seems hard. Maybe if some sort of halfway point could be worked out it would be easier. Easiest thing to do would just have meet ups locally for both crews at the place with best internet and play that way.
Thanks everyone for tuning in or showing up to ARK IV! I know the internet was ass-tier, but we were blind-sided by the insanely slow connection on tournament day. When we tested it, it was 4-5x faster than it showed this weekend.
Results and Shoutouts for our tournament may be found here:
Be sure to keep in mind our bonus offer! It’s open to ANYONE and EVERYONE regardless of whether you tuned into the stream or came to the tournament or even just slept at home.

Also to address some things-
- Internet was ass because of a natural disaster that happened like literally a few days ago that capped the whole city’s internet at 0.5 Mb/s upload. That’s BARELY capable of running a stream. We tested it way beforehand and were getting over 2.0 Mb/s before the natural disaster.
- Commentators were iffy because… we have ass commentators in Arkansas. People either don’t understand the game or don’t know how to coherently talk about it. It’s something we’ve been working on, but the way we’re set up with open commentary where anyone can grab a mic… well sometimes it leads to boring nonsense and sometimes it leads to… BOOM!
- Hopefully me and Mike will be able to attend Season’s Beatings. It looks like the date is free on our calendars.
Thanks everyone for showing up and supporting us. We love you guys. Also special thanks to whoever tweeted about us from here. We definitely appreciate the exposure!
Neoblood, my xbox did the same thing to my Marvel 3 disc, take it to any family video and they will fix it for like 5 bucks.
GG needs the Simpsons Arcade Game. Get on that, Jason.
I think this is a kick ass idea and I love the idea of using a shared calender so the events can be planned way in advance to allow for people to set up time off or what have you. I can probably even host one of the sessions given enough notice as I have more room in my house than most. Granted overnight accommodations I cant help you with.
count me in… I cant stay the night at Nashville, but planned correctly, I can be there an entire Saturday!
I guess peeps can crash at my place…
Had one here before, sold it, board broke, monitor broke, cabinet was a mess, got $50 for the empty cabinet the other day, so one of these days maybe again
This saddens me. Did it end up paying for itself near the end though? I just know it’s a popular arcade game and was wondering if you got your investment back from it.
As far as fight nights go, I think it should be planned around tournaments each month if possible, that way everyone can play all sorts of stuff…
We’re going to have a Tournament Announcement for Saturday October 8 for Game Galaxy featuring:
Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (on 360)
Marvel VS Capcom 3 (on 360)
Street Fighter III: Third Strike (on PS3 and 360)
Mortal Kombat 9 (on ASUS 360 and arcade machine with 360 ports)
Same info as before, $5 cover, $5 entry for each tournament…BONUS $100 added to the pot if we get 32 players for any game (we had 32 for AE last tournament)
This will be a Season’s Beatings warmup tournament. I will be here to run this tournament that Saturday, Richard will follow up with schedule)
St
I’ve owned that cabinet before, had it at a laundromat for years…sold it for $550, paid $300 for it back then…the board alone hits $130-150 all the time. This last cabinet I bought for $120, sold the broken board for $50 and cabinet for $50 but go to auctions for stuff every once in awhile to find cheap stuff…I’ll get it again if one pops up cheap enough…
So for this opeth concert next Tuesday, my plan is to just chill at the arcade until a couple hours before the show. Richard, you expressed interest at going, and Arson you said you were going too right? Anyone else? Anyone need me to get their ticket? Chris, you feel like listening to some METAL!?!?
It is on Wednesday, bruh. I doubt I go to the arcade, but yeah I’ll meet you there for sure. I kinda like to get there early enough to be half way down the line to be close to the front.
So apparently I’m boring as a commentator and don’t call the matches right either. So I guess that means I’ll just keep my mouth shut from now on and not commentate on the streams lol
Can never please anyone these days lol
In your defense the stream had the wrong names on either side every other match. You can’t be worse than fucking Marn who just jerked off about Mike Ross and his bets.
Honestly, I’m not sure what people expect. When I decided to get stream for MK9 Nationals I chose skisonic (for hype) and Adam Hernandez (for technical knowledge of the game). Adam was quiet, Ski was more hype, color and play by play; some people liked it, some people didn’t…personally I think Seth Killian is the best commentator. I think after that it’s a toss up…I miss John Rockefeller (Dr. Sub-Zero) as he was the first commentator when Family Fun had 3s matches going on…James Chen and UltraDavid are up there…
I think I might be working Wednesday, but I’ll see if I can’t trade shifts with someone. I’ll keep you in the know
I didnt get to watch much of the stream but Marn might be one of the worst commentators I have ever heard. I do like hearing ultra david commentate. Jas I dont mind your style either but I know all of the in jokes so…
