Rolento has that jab in every game, it’s nothing new. He has no overhead, you just simply block it. I can think of 3-4 other characters that can do that in SF4 and there is no way Rolento is going to do that to characters with good wakeups. The damage is there in the game, there’s a LOT of damage, the thing is players are smart and use the clock to their advantage by tagging out correctly…The Supers I agree, those don’t deal out much damage. There are problems with the game but addressing the "Supers’ and “Rolento jab” is not going to make people start playing the game, the juggles and chains turned off people, they would have to change the whole game to bring people back, balance isn’t doing it because I hate to say it, even as wtf as everyone thinks the game is it’s a hell of a lot more balanced than most games…just not in the “2012” timeframe that everyone is accustomed to everyone in the game being balanced…it’s more of an MVC2 type balance where only 10 characters mean anything…maybe more with Tekken characters
Capcom only “catered” because of they felt the need to be more community oriented. I question how that does for sales completely as SF4 has still not even come close to outselling the SF2 series which had zero community input and zero balance addressing (unless you count Hyper Fighting) (including SF4 series of 3 games for sale vs SF2 series 20 years ago)
This is exactly whey Capcom took a break after 10 years of games from SF2 to CVS2…people were wtf and burned out and it oversaturates the community. If you look at it right now you have what:

Shit catches up but I think people put wayyyyyy too much into the community stuff. The only time it works is with Guilty Gear and Skullgirls…you don’t need it for other established games…
I would like SFxT better if throws were better and the game wasn’t so clunky, really if it felt more like SFIV with the crazy juggles I would like it as a competitive game.
@Dream - I agree the FGC has part of the blame for the madness that is going on in fighting games now but at the same time it has helped (i.e KOF) so it’s a double-edge sword.
What I mean about “serious fighter” is more about how the game is presented vice being tournament friendly. Hell tournament players will anything as long as it has good comp
and a fat pot with it, lol. SFxT didn’t know if it wanted to be a comedy or have a dark presents so the marketing was all over the place. MK9 was a reboot and that’s how they solid it. BTW, that game was going to sell regardless because it’s MK and it’s just as an iconic game in the States as SF. As for the royalties, they can work that out easy since Namco has to use Capcom characters for their upcoming game but if Capcom hopes to make CvS3 (which many are dying for) they need to prove it would be worth SNK’s wild and it would make negotiations easier (remember SNK only did one game while Capcom made two).
Also the flooding of the market will play into this as well like you said. There is a number of good games coming out so they have to remind the comp that they are the big dogs and get the most of the fighting game spending going on.
SFxT is already a great game as it is. I think people should stop being so negative and pressuring Capcom to actually make a fg this time. If you don’t like it, don’t play it and just let people have the funs. It’s not Capcom’s fault if you expected your money’s worth.
Cross needs sone char. nerfs and a general buff…If theres not going to be parry focus alhpa counter in the basic gameplay.At least put the defence bar in this game.

I really do miss stun bars in games. Also after watching streams with sxt I will not be convinced that damage is too small especially seeing that there is gray life and switching.
LOL, you have a job buddy and stuff going on =P We need one of those guys that works part time or no time. I can assure you know I know of major tournament promoters who “don’t” work period or work very very little and have all the time in the world= P
Dream maybe you can try getting the tourney thread stickied in the tournaments and events forum? It’s an EVO qual so that should give it automatic sticky status. ECT already has theirs up and it’s only a couple weeks before. I could go ahead and PM some mods unless you or someone else already has.

I hope everyone that still has their Mom was able to spend some time with her today (well technically yesterday). I had a pretty good day. It rained all day so we just got take out and had a lazy day. I didn’t have to cook or clean anything today and those are the best kind of days. LOL!
