Hey guys! If you happen to be in antioch this saturday im inviting anyone over who wants to just hang out and play. Some of the anime fighter guys will be there and we’ll be playing KOF but I’m up to play whatever: KOF, Marvel, SF, SCV. It’ll be a good time to get both communities to interact a bit. If you are interested ill pm location.
So I tried to get the MBB Trailer on the front page basically told our tournament wasn’t worthy of it. But random funny moments #136543221 is front page worthy! bullshit
Fuck those cocksuckers! Once they realize just how well the tournament turns out and ppl are making a big fuss about it if they ever ask me for anything i will be sure to tell them to stick this puertorican bawse balls in their mouth!
And yet they are supposed to be all about helping the fgc grow. I bet you if it said featuring players such as jwong and yadayadayada that shit would be all over the front page. lol nigga please!
Btw anyone see the trailer to ark 5 yet? Ending was funny as shit!
F
“oh man, nigga I want this on YouTube, Facebook, MySpace, twitter…”
Dude, real shit, FUCK all those assclowns talking about trying to grow the FGC but then not giving smaller scale events the time of day. Midwest is a fucking EVO QUALIFIER and we constantly struggle to get exposure and press. MBB is going to be a spectacular event, fuck what you heard. I’m greatly appreciative of the work people are doing here, and also grateful to the top players and community heads that are actually helping us promote and showing interest.
I’m SOOOOO over the politics man. Let’s just do our thing and keep it moving. TN is a force whether people like it or not.
Lee - I may be able to pull something together. You still got that phone so can i text you? If not…you know…if you were on twitter we could communicate WAYYYYY easier. The fb message thing gets pretty tired after a while and if I don’t stay current on Twitter I break into a cold sweat, so you’d get a response much quicker there. Also you should really just be on twitter I MEAN DAMN.
Now that being said, I’m probably going to be avoiding the…I don’t know…ENTIRE FUCKING INTERNET until I see Avengers because apparently people are physically incapable of SHUTTING THE FUCK UP about it on EVERY social networking medium. Jesus H. Christ man…if you need me, TEXT, smoke signal, carrier pigeon, singing telegram, morse code. If I don’t answer, remain calm…i will hit you back.
Been playing MK9 on the Vita online and the netcode is actually very good.
At this point, spoilers are your punishment for not seeing it yet.
Yes, let me make it clear on the FGC events…
I don’t pay hundreds of dollars for plane tickets for people to come.
I don’t “cater” to top players.
Because of this it affects our turnout somewhat because I don’t treat “top players” like superstars.
Also, I RUN tournaments, I am NOT an organizer, OR promoter. That is also one thing that affects MWC is that I never promote the event myself and that also is an issue if others try and help promote it because they aren’t given respect because they have not been in the community as long.
I treat every player like everyone else as it should be, I see fairly and run a fast bracket. Everyone makes mistakes but it is very clear most people would rather go to tournaments where they can be late to matches and do whatever they want…
Long story short this does affect MWC because well, I am not a promoter, lol…
GGs to Andrew in ST and whoever I played in KOF (Walt and milln’s friend) and Jacob Ford in 3s…how did I not play AE yesterday?
Why should “top players” get the rockstar treatment? They are just like any of us. We are the 99% occupy FGC!
cause I wasn’ there :X
in all honesty, I don’t see anything wrong with flying top players out to your events. People will want to travel to your tournament because you’ll get promotion. Not to mention, if you’re streaming your event, your scene will be recognized because more people will tune in to see those top players. Local talent will get recognized and your scene will grow.
Bigger players mean bigger turnouts. Which equals more exposure and promotion. And if you’re into the money aspect, you’ll benefit much greater. SRK and Eventhubs won’t normally post unless there are bigger names.
With that said, I have it in good with an editor on Eventhubs, so I can try and get it posted for you guys. I’m almost certain I can get the tourneys stream featured day of. So hopefully that will help increase viewers. I’m ready for stream monsters to see the south’s talent.
I was just joking about that. I understand why people have them come to events and stuff I just wanted to make a 99% reference…
lol I took no offense. Was just looking for a discussion.
My honest opinion on the matter it that they get to much given to them by the community and feel that they have rights to byes and other privileges that other players do no have the fortune to have due to no sponsorship or fan base. The community gives them a god complex but as soon as a “nobody” draws blood from one of the pedestal gods they get their panties in a bunch and start dick-riding. I have respect for “top players” but by no means do i feel like they should be catered to like i have read about and heard from other players that have seen it first hand at majors and other events. Trust me I have mad respect for top players that give back to the community but many of them are just replicas of Philipino Champ that have sorry ass excuses for losing and trash talk all the time.
GGs to Josh
It doesn’t always work like that…it may help for “some” stuff, but for what I do, it does not make sense.
As the owner of the arcade, most of my business comes from locals. A Stream won’t educate anyone or help with exposure because I’m not selling a product. With PDP it makes sense, but even the most “famous” arcades close due to lack of foot traffic/overhead and streams are still highly inferior for the pay to play (which is where the profit would be) to take effect…
I am pretty sure we can get Arturo or Haunts to post it, Art has access to front page but what you said is true, they usually don’t post unless it is “big”
The problem with flying top players out is you get a rep for that and they “expect” more and my favorite part is you aren’t able to play them because they are also there to take advantage of only playing other players for “money” and that’s a big disrespect thing in my book, they completely take advantage of that aspect and I have to argue that not all players will “follow” just because XXX superstar is going to be there…heck, even funnier is that even if you beat them they have primadonna attitudes more than ever now…yet some people follow them around all day like they are gods, lol, wow…
I mean, I’m fairly decent at most of the tournament games I played back in the day, some people still think I am a “top player” in certain games and there is no way I would ever “make” someone play me for money just to play casuals…if someone wants to play I’ll play…
It may work for some scenes but the logistics and catering to them isn’t worth it in my opinion because it is the “norm” nowadays. We never had to do that with MWC before and never had a problem getting top players to come all the time but the scene has evolved and it is almost a given.
I can understand for the overall “money” to be there but I can assure you guaranteed pots are the way to go on some of those…
If I offer $2000-3000 guaranteed each game, that will bring in numbers no matter what and it keeps the integrity of the tournament going and it’s a lot better than:
$400 each for 5 players to come who “may” bring your total in a game to 100 supposedly. 100 x 10 = $1000…the split doesn’t make sense that way…you can do much better off the cover charge with the guaranteed pot…and all those players you are bringing in make their money off money matches…there’s just something really wtf about how all that works now.
PERFECT ENGLISH
For those who have seen it, you KNOW why I loved the Avengers. The amount of Hulk was too good. Mark Ruffalo is my hero.
Seriously, that movie was over-the-top good.
Fuck. YOU.
