Eh…I think the online for this game blows chunks. It’s random, no matter the latency. Overall it’s best to just play locals. And that may be hard to find, depending on where you stay. What area of TN are you btw? Anyway, if online is a big factor to you, then I guess you can just deal with it. Do “online combos”, which are easier variations of whatever you might be practicing in training mode. Though some guys online can hit some crazy stuff no matter the lag. Also just keep in mind that hit-confirming and reacting will be off. You’ll wakeup on lows and alot of other bullshit, probably have to resort to mashing out strings, etc. I don’t take online seriously at all. I’ve lost dozens of matches off not being able to tell when I can press a button or not being able to jump over a fireball. Stupid stuff. And the only time I get even 3 or 4 bar matches is when I play guys that live down the street. And it’s pointless because I can just go down the street and play them.
In short, no one can really tell you what to do to conquer online because it’s so shitty. Not like SF4 at all. From what I’ve played of AE online, it had the best online I’ve played on a PS3 fg.

Yeh i absoulutly hate online for this game. the combos i can do offline mean nothing online. And i live in the memphis area kinda the outskirts of memphis. Idk of any players that play KOF in my area. I just know the SF and MVC scene’s are strong. but i guess i’ll find out 2morow at fight nights haha. But i cant decide if i want to stick with elisabeth or Mai. I dont want to do character flopping like i did for Vanilla MVC3 (and i still couldnt settle on a main team for that game)

There were actually several people playing KOF consistently at fight night last week. I’m sure there will be at least 1-2 setups of it tomorrow.

Cool. I live in Cordova. A few of us play regularly and the rest of the guys here are picking it up I think. Are you talking about the Fight Night in MS? I haven’t been since it started but I’ll try to be there tomorrow. Also, this game is full of character variety, especially console version. There have been early tier-lists from respected players and voices, yet none of them reach a common consensus, some even being polar opposites of the other. That tells me that the game is pretty damn balanced right now. So you should play whoever you like the most. Liz is very strong, but too dry for my taste. They made Mai really solid in console, with good zoning, nice normals, and overall tricky playstyle allowing for some shenanigans and cool followups.

Yeh im talking bout the one in MS. I havent been in ages but got my work schedule adjusted so i can go again. And i guess I can switch out mai/elisabeth depending on situation. Kinda like what i do for Cammy/Rose. But Kula and Shen are here to stay. Shen cuz he’s powerful and Kula since ever since i heard about KOF 13 i was going to have her on my team. even before i knew how good she was.

Mike: Last week there was 1 Marvel set up which turned into a SF set up and like 3 KOF set ups at fight night. I am sure SF will be featured with the changes but I will be there and my machine is set to KOF even though I will be playing SF too. You should come out.

Maybe I’ll pick it up sometime. But, I just get bored by the game now. There’s nothing to be done about it. Maybe in time I’ll come back and be ready or something. I just feel like I’m doing the same stuff all the time.
