Lmao…this nigga here. I already got team names in my dome.
Astaroth…I am right there with you. No excuse for a fighting game…with a training mode…with NO. Input display. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong or conversely what I’m doing right when shit works. It’s infuriating because to me, it feels like I’m doing the same thing when I land or miss something. Also, semi-related…I hate how it restarts training mode when you pause.
man this is whats killing me also! i hate not being able to see why a certain move/combo isnt working, it makes learning the game even harder… I doubt they will ever patch it…but who knows. Maybe a new version will come out 3rd Strike: Input Edition.
Obviously, because if you did there would really be no excuse. Seriously though, just keep doing the motions until you’re getting what you want on a consistent basis.
There really is no reason to not have input display. If you dont know what you are doing wrong its much harder to try and fix it. Or if you do “fix” it you dont really know why so its still no real help
Some people need visual confirmation, not everyone has 100% execution all the time. For myself, I need to know when the direction and the button register for me to know the timing on certain combos.
No lie, I practiced stepkick>st.hp xx CoD over and over in training mode with inputs on. Doing that helped me SEE at what point my motion was when I hit the button. It allowed me to finetune the timing consistently, now that I had a visual guide as to when the inputs came out.
Now I rarely, if ever drop that combo. Input display helps. If you don’t need it, great, but don’t bag on folks that use it in order to improve their game.
You ok dude? You gettin upset or somethin? If you need anymore indication that you aren’t doing the move correctly other than the fact that the move is not coming out that’s fine by me. “Would rather have” and “need” are 2 different things.
Look Bishop, as I said, it helps to see how the inputs register.
It’s not whether or not the move comes out, it’s WHY. I’ve explained already. If you need anymore indication that this feature does in fact help people learn the inputs, I don’t know what else to tell you.
Lol…of course it helps! It let’s you know exactly what direction isn’t being pressed or whether or not the button presses are synced when they need to be. I know how it works. It just sounds funny(to me) when you make such a big deal as if “OMG! I’ll never be able to do a 360 motion without knowing EXACTLY what direction Im missing!” but hey, maybe that is the case. I can definitely see your reasoning.
It’s not why. You could know what to press all day and still do it incorrectly.
It helps a player see how the game registers their inputs, but it’s not seeing the inputs that makes a player correct their timing.
I’m not arguing that it’s not helpful, but it would be incorrect to say that it helps people learn inputs. Normally, people are practicing inputs they have already seen, stuff they know works and are practicing so they can do it confidently in a fight.
It’s already a stupid argument, the problem as i see it is that it’s a system that people find helpful that has been in every fg since SF4 that is just oddly left out. It is silly to say that without a shadow of a doubt it doesn’t help you, When learning instant 360 with Gief it helped me be sure exactly what i needed to do.
Stupid argument how? You read what I said incorrectly it seems.
I said it does not help someone time inputs. That’s different from saying it does not help at all.
Inputs not being shown does not stop you from practicing. It can show the mistakes you are making, not correct them. There’s not a good reason not to have it, but it’s not a must have for training mode either.
Jason says a lot of old man shit sometime about SF4 spoiling people on inputs and things like that but it’s true.
