I’m willing to wait and see on this one. You guys immediately writing it off based on the premise alone need to chill.
If its bad then its bad, but Arrow as well as Smallville proved DC can work as a live action television series.
Smallville was a teen drama in a different package. Superman presence was unnecessary.
Never actually watched Arrow.
Teen Titans Go is still by far the best bit of DC-related programming, though. Only possible exception are the 1990s Batman cartoons (they actually hold up really well even today, which you can’t say about the X-Men or Spider-Man cartoons from back then).
Titans Go was a different show for a different audience. You could argue they shouldn’t have used the Teen Titans name, but if you stop trying to compare it to something it was never trying to be, the show is pretty amusing.
The jokes hit more than they miss with my friends and I.
Im actually almost done watching the Titans cartoon from my dvds, didn’t finish the show when it aired. Im excited for this because its Teen Titans, but also some shit may not always transfer well to live action. Especially with the cartoon fresh in my mind currently it would be weird for me to see the Titans possibly more serious since Im used to the aninated portrayal from the comedy, fight scenes and etc.
So im not sure who this show will cater too, if its gonna be a “teen show” or something thats mainly intended for comic fans. I guess we will have to hold our breath. But I know they. Need to take casting serious to make sure Raven and Starfire look good lol.
But yeah I think this may be written off because people are used to the cartoon. And if Deathstroke is still gonna be an antagonist at some point in the series I don’t think I will like him live action as much as I like his portrayal in the cartoon
I preferred the way the series handled that arc. Frankly, Terra was a piece of shit that no one liked as it was, and everyone was happy when she died. If they redid it and tried to remain closer to the comic, I’d be pissed.
They started off the series in high school. Of course it was a teen drama. Still had (some) good qualities. I like to finish off series if I start them. Smallville got so bad I couldn’t. As far as Teen Titans Go, are you forgetting Young Justice or Justice League? The latter was still based off 90’s batman, but still.
As far as your second point, X-men is still relatively good. Spiderman definitely didn’t hold up. That cartoon is kind of frustrating with so many reused shots and him saying “With great power…” yada yada every 5 minutes.
