MVC2 anyone? 52 well animated/detailed characters with up to 6 different ones allowed in a match at once?

Open your eyes, this isn’t the NeoGeo/Saturn/PS1 era. The current gen systems around have PLENTY enough memory to sustain any 2D fighter.

I’d rather have 19 NEW and nicely updated character sprites in a game, than 100 OLD, pixelated/jaggy character sprites that all look like they were made in 1995.

Quality, not quantity here. Ever heard of that concept?

Edit: And no i’m not trolling, just trying to appeal to all the close-minded that don’t seem to care that SNKP is not even TRYING anymore.

Like half of the marvel characters that had been in games for years already were missing tons of animation. Sentinel is an excellent example.

There is a collection…Orochi Collection that has 95,96,97 Shibuya and NESTS is gonna contain 99-2001.

well, a while back there was a rumored SNK TV retro compilation that was supposed to be much like Capcom Classics Collection and supposedly it was going to have all the old classic shit; Baseball Stars, Metal Slug, Samsho 1, KOF 94, Fatal Fury, Ikari Warriors, Vanguard, Victory Road, basically SNK’s humble beginnings. Now it’s looking like SNK simply just signed a deal with those crappy TV-Games / Jakks Pacific people and if it does come out it’s just gonna have Ikari Warriors, Vanguard and Victory Road on it and be one of those TV plug and play things, which makes me very, very sad…

Meh not suprised. As it is, you’re already using a defense mechanism called “Repression”, to forget how lame SNKP has been with constant recycled and CHEAP releases.

It’s shame 4649… man that the only way to get those oldies now and days is to get Mame or something like that…

Detail: MVC2 characters have FAR HIGHER level of animation&detail than SNK’s old/current sprites.

Memory needed: With the memory capacity needed to store the animation of 1 MVC2 character, you could probabley fit 3 of KOFXI’s character sprites into.

Quality:
MVC2 characters= nicely animated, vibrant, smooth, and detailed.
Current KOF characters= Old, jaggy, dull, and pixelated stuff from 1998 or older.

Similiarly, put MVC2 and the LATEST KOF game(XI) side-by-side, and the KOF title will look like a sad SNES game by comparison. Dispite being a so-called “New 2006 game”.

Why can’t we just get along? Both games are amazing (though I wish tagged out characters could replenish health like in MvC2).

Regardless, I’m definatly looking foward to KOF XII, with hopes that a certain group of forgotten athletes will come out of the shadows and join Duck in the “KOF Background characters that finally get to fight” club. Well, that and the return of every other forgotten character, but since the game is currently “in story mode” right now, I’ll probablt have to wait until KOF XIII, which will probably be another dream match. I mean, on the new hardware, it shouldn’t be hard, right?

If nothing else, SamSho 3D should look really sexy. I’m praying SNKP’s experience with the MI series will serve them well on this one.

I wish Ash was in the console MI2. I don’t even play as him, but now it feels a little incomplete. Ah well, I’ll still pick up the US release (tomorrow, if I’m lucky).

That and the neat “Pushblock” animations from XvSF and MSVSF get turned into a sound effect + Wave.

At the rate things are going with Garou characters etc looks like we will see Kain, Grant etc in KOFS in a few.:lol:

SNK needs to stick more random obscure characters form SNK games in KOFXI as mid-bosses. Grant NEEDS to be in it or Marco.

Yeah, KOF XI definitely needs Snapbacks ( they could even animate them like the E-button Guard Break from Neowave!!! ) that have super armour, would make fighting Kula, Gato and Oswald hella easier.

I dunno though man, Lucky, Brian and Heavy D were INSANELY broken in KOF 94 ( and Rebout, since they never fixed redizzies or anything ). Heavy D and Lucky get free wakeup pressure and Brian is, well, ridiculous…they would basically be top 3 ( well, maybe not with front step…but then again if Heavy D’s ground smash is made faster it would prolly BEAT front step attempts…same with low Lucky basketball… )

Heavy D really does need a comeback- he oozed style more then any other SNK character.

As for their power level. Lucky was mid tier, but did beat Goro, Brian was upper mid, Heavy was mid.

In fact, Lucky is my designated anti-Goro/Iori (though he dies to Iori)

What I really want to see in XII is a return to more normality, not so much of the hyper hop fest XI was.

Am I the only one here that thinks it’s too early for KOF XII? This is not sounding good at all.

And that logo fucking sucks. Totally uncreative and UGLY.

Why are people hating on SNK for the crappy sprites? Seriously, 94 Rebout had better sprites than anything by anybody else who wasn’t Sammy and was that the best game ever? Hell naw. Was CvS2 bad because all the sprites other than like…five sucked (and they did. The only good ones were Rock, Geese, Kyo, Maki and Eagle.)

Really, gtf over it. It’s just graphics, and all of them suck outside of Guilty Gear.

And KOFXI was just a fast-paced game. Lotsa people like fast-paced. That’s like saying all that MvC2 is is just a crazy tag-fest.

And I wouldn’t mind seeing the return of Lucky, D and Brian, but it just plain isn’t gonna happen and if they do…yeah, some rebalancing, plz. Characters I wanna see the return of are Heidern, Yamazaki (though he’s just out for one game…he still just plain rules), Leona, Chizuru and Billy (why was he gone?). Characters I want GONE are Momoko (bring back Hinako, I don’t care, just not Momoko or Bao), Benimaru (he’s been in every game…why?), Yuri (extraneous).

But you know what’ be snazzy? If after the Ash Saga, they jumped a few years forward in time. Old Kyo, in the Saisyu robes. Mr Karate Ryo. Then throw in some of the Garou peoplez and you have a game!
