IMO: Capcom Makes GREAT Fighters that will be playable/fun for a LONG ass time. hence why SF4 will probably not come out at all or never be made at all cause The Marvel “Vs” Series, 3S, ST and maybe CVS2 are still being played to this very day like or not “Hardcore” SNK peepz.
On the other hand, SNK IS making some pretty damn good games after KOF03(NGBC, Tenka, KOFXI) and now they’re looking to expand on KOFMI and SamSho in 3D.
Bottom Line: Both companies are awesome. STFU with the Anti-Capcom/SNK BS already.
2k2 and other games like Garou and 98 are STILL BEING PLAYED…hardcore even by the majority of SNKp players…
they are the and A3,3s,and ST of the SNK community respectively. Why the hell you think 2k2 got NeoWave and is getting a Re-bout? Its almost like a capcom classics collection/anniversary edition!
Same with 98…its getting released for Ps2…why? Its still a hot game!
Absolutely. I’m a graphics designer, too, and I agree. Graphics shouldn’t mean shit when it comes to games - it’s about the gameplay. Graphics does not hinder gameplay, or at least it shouldn’t. The way I see it, if it does, it’s your fault.
All the next-gen consoles empathize all those amazing graphics. There’s nothing wrong with the graphics themselves, they’re cool, and the people who make the graphics for the video games have much lesser limits for their creativity with the consoles power. I think Tekken/Soul Calibur/DOA have amazing graphics, and the graphic artists behind them deserve credit for what they do. But when the graphics BECOME the game and empower the gameplay, the story, everything - that’s where it goes wrong. Sure, everything looks pretty, but that’s it. Video game quality will decline if all the emphasis is on the graphics.
On the topic of fighting games, what’s the big deal? Competitive players play to get better at the game, they concentrate on the gameplay and the mechanics, not how pretty that hadoken looks. It’s -nice-, but it’s not everything, and it gets old fast.
Don’t think those titles will die after 12 gets released. Never tried 98 with a ps2 controller but I’ll be at my boy’s house jammin to it when it comes into reach. Think they’ll keep 99DM’s siq anime intro?
Just for the record, I respect Capcom and SNK and all its’ flip flop and traitor like employees and their contributions to this great thumbsport.
Eh, while I did dig Kusangai (especially for his kick-ass voice actor), I say, he’s not really that necessary. As it stands now, NGBC Kyo is probably going to be the new “EX Kyo” that we can look forward to seeing in the series for the duration, and that’s good enough, in my eyes.
Honestly, the only other flame spewing user I would like to see in KOF would be the original, Syo Kirishima…like that will ever happen…:wasted:
Frankly, I like SNK’s art style in the KoF games. Even if they remain similar (similar, there are always those nice little additional details that SNK vets pick up on in each new installment) they’re still gorgeous to look at and don’t NEED an update. When they do update them, it is gradually, which also something I like since it keeps a sort of continuity between the games (as opposed to, say, when the character portraits just did a complete transformation from 2000 to 2001.) It kind of reminds me of a real yearly competition, where competitors don’t get a total makeover each but change a little bit. Which is, exactly what it is. But thats just me.
Still, I often do wonder what could have been, if his appearance as a striker in KOF 2000 was any indicator. I at least think the same voice actor who later did Kusanagi was the one who did Syo in 2K.
hmmm, i thought that was the reason they moved to the atomiswave and now to the new taito stuff cause it is more powerful, i think memory played a bigger role in the neogeo MVS-AES days and i dont think its and issue now, just my opinion though i might be wrong:sweat:
Dimps needs to stop making Budokai games and get working on another fighting game (or at least port RF2).
On that note, I’m excited for KOF XII, but I’m also dissapointed at the lack of a NGBC2. In many ways, I like NGBC’s gameplay more than KOF XI’s. Kinda the reason why I like Arrange mode better than Arcade mode.
The new Taito hardware looks poised to replace Atomiswave…I think we should all be questioning where those machines could / would end up in the continental US and / or which consoles the games’ll be ported to…
SNK USA Ben Herman, do the damn thing and pick up this shizzle ( and while you’re at it how 'bout finally putting out that SNK-TV thing that was rumored a while back? )
