I wanted them to remove both analogue sticks, they’re just taking up space, that’s what I did with my dualshock 2, most people will just use the dpad anyway. I do think having one stick is a bit awkward though.
Same here. It peaked my interested enough to give it a buy, despite it seeming a bit pricey for what looks to be an experiment. Wish it kept the dual analog concept as well so it could deem itself as a weird ps4 alternative controller than just another fight pad.
Nintendo owns the dpad patent so it cannot be exactly a cross. Hence why we have had sooo many bad dpads over the years. We have had some good ones but few and far between.
I saw a commercial for it once. Then about a year later I saw one in a clearance sale and bought it for $5. Shittiest controller I’ve ever used in my life. And the D-Pad for the Madcatz controller looks horrible.
How hard could it possibly be to do this but use real quality parts so it doesn’t fall apart after a year or two?
I personally like the Snes dpad better than the Saturn, only thing I like better on the Saturn is the button layout. I’ve been playing a lot of GG Xrd with both controllers and Overdrives seem to be easier to pull off on a Snes pad.
I prefer the floating pads to the Snes and Sony style, my thumb gets raw doing any quarter circle motion after a while on 4-way pads. In Australia it’s so expensive getting a nice fightpad though! The cheap Logitech gamepads have done nicely for me at the moment:
The new Mad Catz one looks very nice, would be better without the joystick though.
That was the pad I used when I really got into fighters. The D-pad will break after about a year or less. That’s a guarantee. I went through about 3-4 of them in just as many years.
