Been tryin’ out a new painting style in Painter6. here’s my first attempt, whaddaya think?
Siiiiiiiiiiiick!
Very very cool. I hope the bust Udon is making will look something like that. It’s got a cool bird of prey quality to it.
Wow, very nice work. The piece has a lot of mid tones, but needs more contrast between the highlights and shadows. I think you could turn up the contrast more. Also maybe tighten up the hair a little bit. Other than that excellent work! Keep it up
Thanks guys, yeah you’re right about the contrast Shadow gotta fix that.
try not to blend with the smudge tool so much man and try to make new colors instead of relying on what’s there instead of “realizing a tone or passage in some uncontrollable process”
I like the visual dynamic of the piece but if you do what I said you’ll be able to paint alot better. Its alot mroe fun that way too.
I haven’t been using a blend or smudge tool, the regular paint brush just blends like that autmatically, because its suposse to simulate actual painting. So whatever new colour I lay down its gonna mix with the one underneath it. I think that’s why his face is overall kindof washed out and looks like I used a smudge tool. Trust me I never use blending tools, when I coloured in painter in the past I used the felt marker simply because it allowed me to lay down solid colour without any blendage going on.
Still even though you were wrong about the technique I was using your crit is still valid, I need more control of my colours when I paint, so thanks! Next attempt will be better.
DZ= Teh Gr87ne$$! Dood, you’ve made me a believer in painter 6… I gotta get that shit ASAP.
very impressive!
Great job. Any chance of you making the ‘fixed’ version into a wallpaper?

Looking good so far zombie. What i would suggest is making the darks more evident. Getting values is all about shape making. When i squint my eye his hair and skin kind of mesh in together. So take down some values and bring up some of the highlights.
Everything is so warm right now so i think you could use some combinations of warm and cool colors. Overall very nice pic in painter. Keep at it. Here is a quick paint over to let you know what i am talking about.
Yeah, I see what you’re saying man, thanks for the advice. I’ll attempt to rework it.
