This was answered in the post right before yours.
I know plenty of pad players who can do that.
Just saying.
is there anyway to change the talk button “T” to like “enter” or somethign?
no…
hey Damdai, I really appreciate all the great work you’ve accomplished so far, but I have a question for you.
While I have a pretty decent connection with lots of people through 2DF, it turns out I still have better results (connection wise) playing through classic nFBA P2P.
I regularly play a friend on SFIII3S with nFBA but I noticed since we started both using 2DF we really have too much delay for this to be worth it. (To the point it’s like playing through old mame)
I had doubts for a while but we tried yesterday 2DF, then nFBA and there’s no question, we have almost no delay with nFBA while 2DF looks like MAME when we play together.
We never had such a great ping, but it’s always been ok still. our ping is 109-120 in 2DF.
I’m not complaining or anything, I can keep playing that friend through classic nFBA and I still think 2DF is dope, but I’m just wondering, how come? Could it be happening only with some players or does it add delay to every game?
I vagely remember reading you telling 2DF used classic P2P connection and shouldn’t change anything with the quality of the connection, have I misread?
I’m not sure it can really give some clue about the problem, but my username on 2DF is ‘chocobon’ and my friend’s ‘katsudon’.
You should have the same performance in 2df as you have in nfba p2p. Which version of nfba and p2p dll are you using?
I use the nfbadtr9 version (feb 23) of nfba and the latest client that comes with it (feb11)
I’ll check with my friend and post as soon as we catch up (maybe tomorrow), but I’m 99% sure he’s using the same (if he doesn’t he’s using the ‘stable’ nfba from feb 11).
EDIT ::: I just noticed 0746 released a fix for the sound bug, but neither me or my friend installed it
he’s in italy (around naples) and I’m in france (paris), so we’re pretty close, but for the comparison, I have a good connection and a smaller ping with the other french guys and most of the times a flawless game (however I know a ken that lags eventhough we must have a ping around 80). Well, that is, if distance has anything to do with connection.
This might of happened to other people before, but it was the first time it happened to me last night.
Was playing 3S with someone, and someone challenged me (I don’t know how) and it crashed 2DF for me.
Wierd bug.
damdai: Which romset for Alien vs Predator is 2DF? I have Euro and USA, but it says I’m missing files.
Is 2DF down?? i cant load the page :crybaby:
It’s up. What URL are you using?
I’ll tell you when I get home.
Oops yeah! i dunno why i cant load the page in my favorites, everytime i opened the 2df page there…its ok now, well thanks!!!
which version nfba is everyone using for 2df?
You don’t have to supply the emulator. It’s included with the client.
damdai: Have you had the chance to check which romset it is for AvP?
It says that I’m missing some files, but the romset(s) (Euro+ USA) run for other emulators no problem.
2DF is still great, but I’ve been getting random errors lately, apart from the new challenger crash. I think it was mentioned before, but you normally need to challenge twice to get it to work.
Errors I noticed:
-Connects, romsets load, and game window doesn’t popup/start
-Being challenged when fighting (causes to crash)
-Screeching noise when challenged, then errors out
-This is a strange one I experienced on Saturday - Loads roms, and just before the game starts, there is the “2DF error occured, do you want to report this to Microsoft?” and I thought it wouldn’t play, but the game window popped up. I played tons of matches with the guy, ended our set, then shut off 2DF with the microsoft error window.
There is no way you can be challenged if you are currently playing. If this happens again, please take a screenshot.
As for the screeching challenge error, what’s the error?
I’ll check which version of AvP, but for all roms, you should be able to search on google for the zip name and select the first link.
The challenge during playing error only happened once.
I was playing someone, then the “new challenger” sound effect rang, and the top bar was red as if I was challenged, then the playing screen shut down and the Report to Microsoft error came up.
The screeching error, is when I get challenged by some people (no real pattern) there is a screeching sound mixed with the “new challenger” sound effect ring, and then entire 2DF window automatically closes, and the Report to Microsoft error pops up.
There was another error that I reported a few pages back, and I copied and pasted the error notes.
It’s been around one week and I can’t get on 2df no matter what I try. Tried deleting the 2.0 folder, rebooting, tried from every PC in the LAN (that never had 2df installed, even) and I still get the same error telling me to ‘turn off automatic shutdown setting “DispatchRuntime.AutomaticInputSessionShutdown” to false or consider the possibility of modifying the the remote server’s shutdown protocol’ (I translated this the best I could).
Any ideas?
I have never had the “microsoft error report” window pop up, nor have I heard of it from anyone else. I can only imagine something must be wrong with some part of your system, whether it be the .net installation or a sound device problem. The entire challenge function is wrapped in a try catch, which means any error that the operating system throws should get caught and handled gracefully. The fact that that is being bypassed tells me there is a more severe problem somewhere else.
Sounds like you are connecting with the old version for some reason. I will confirm this when I get home. Someone with similar problems posted a solution on the 2df forums when deleting the 2.0 folder didn’t work for them.
