New NUBY Street Fighter controllers (pics uploaded)
I’m at a EBGames manager convention and vendor show, I just saw the NUBY sales representatives. One of the reps told me they are making xbox street fighter controllers for the release of street fighter anniversary on XB. It will be a six button layout and feature Guile Cammy Sagat and Akuma.
He also told me the Akuma ps2 controller is now available outside of Blockbuster. He was negotiating for EB to get the Akuma controllers and more Chunli, but the EB buyer currently believes that there isn’t enough room in the stores for more, nor a high demand.
They were also displaying a retail MAS style stick for ps2. It was a mock up, so the official art wasn’t on it, but the art will be from Udon. I’ll post pics when I get home in a day or 2. The EB buyer was telling me he didn’t want them unless NUBY made them dual compatable with ps2 and xbox because of their large size. Nuby said they were probably do it. I was told that the button layout will be different than my photos, I’ll describe the difference when I post the pics.
I was also chatting with a Capcom rep. He was saying there will definitely never be another mvc due to activision holding the licence (I had heard rumors that capcom still had the rights to use some marvel characters, which is untrue). Also there is no talk of another cvs for now. He was telling me he was pitching an idea to Capcom for a 2d fighter with all the girls from capcom with redrawn sprites, including some from 3d games such as rival schools. He labeled it capcom cat fights. Who knows how much sway a sales rep has though.
when r these controllers spose to be out? ive been droping by every tuesday at eb but they keep saying its delayed.
one of the sales associates told me its mostly cuz udon doesnt think there will be a high demand for the controllers, since street fighter AC has been out for a while now.
well anyways, the guys said try next week… which is what he said the week before and the week before that.
Hopefully they correct the button layout on the Xbox version of the controller. How the hell are you gonna make a 6 button controller the dosent default to the correct layout?!??!!?!?!? That pissed me off about the Akuma controller I bought you still had to change the last 2 buttons on the 6 layout to HP and HK grrrrrrrr.
ASCII did it! Is it that hard to put R1, R2 at the end of the layout? Do you have to put L1, R1 I mean common. There that is the end of my rant!
When are they releasing? If you mean the PS2 controllers, they have been out for weeks. There is a low demand, but most EBs received a couple. My store in the Bayshore mall on Long Island has about 30. The xbox ones should be around January.

another pic, with different lighting. The 2 extra buttons are going to be moved to the bottom left of the six button layout, and the select and start are being moved also. The stick has a really good feel to it, more like a mas stick than say an x-arcade. I think he said it should retail for around 59.99-69.99
I also got to play capture the flag in halo2, and resident evil 4. I think res evil 4 was one of the best looking games at the show.
Oh!! The SNK rep said that SamSho 5 and KOF max impact should be coming to xbox live mid next year. He gave me one of the fatal fury hats coming with the ps2 max impact.

Looking at the pic now, I think I remember meeting Nate a couple years ago when SFA3 launched on DC. I believe I kicked his Fei-Long’s butt with my Zangief. I wish I had recognized him 2 days ago. Heh
Oh, and for the guy who cant get the controller at your local EB… tell the manager to get the skus and ask his district manager to have some sent, they are out. If that doesnt work, tell him to call the southshore mall eb in NY 631-969-9379. I will have some transfered to his store if you absolutely cant get them. I’m such a nice guy.

I think the layout is like that, but the bottom 2 are more to the left.
EBGames gets all merchandise sent to their warehouse in Pennsylvania, then ships to their stores from there. I think this includes the Canada stores. If the EB you shop at has a DSL line they can check neighboring stores for quantities. This is a new feature, I dont know how many EBs have it yet. All the stores on Long Island do. Otherwise EBgames.com is supposed have item look ups for store availability in the near future.
yeah, Canada doesn’t have the sf controllers at ALL. no BB i’ve visited has anything sf related except for the game for rent. All EB’s i’ve been to say that the controllers are suppose to come out on the 17th but i don’t believe them…
The rep definitely said it would be released. But who knows if that is true? At EB I’ve seen dates constantly appear and disappear for the kofs and samsho on both ps2 and xbox.
So everyone go out and buy SVC Chaos on XB when it’s released, and show SNK there is a market and customer base for their product. Even if you have the rom!
