jeez, have any of you guys fought the 2 gargoyles yet right before ringing the first bell?! Freaking ridiculous. I couldn’t summon the npc to help because apparently you have to be in human form and I have 0 humanity…I had to just gold resin and swing for the fence…took me about 13 tries until I finally used the resin, but finally got them… This game is retarded awesome.

Richard u know i was trolling u lol. i know how hard those games are i’ve already beaten demons souls before. i don’t mind challenging games at all i’m used to them. coming from games like ghouls n ghosts,double dragon 3,ninja gaiden series on the nes and the xbox ones on master ninja,shinobi ps2,etc i know how hard some of this games can be lol. but with demons souls at least it was all repetition,once you know what to do raping the game is not difficult it just takes time and a lot of trial and error. good game tho,i will pick up dark souls when that shit drops down in price.
I took my reserve off Dark Souls last week and just put it on Uncharted 3. I don’t have anytime to put into it right now, but when a drought comes best believe I’m going to scoop it. No lie.
I did alot of research and talked to “vets” before copping Dark Souls. It’s hard, but it’s the type of hard that punishes you for not being careful. It’s fair enough though, just don’t try to rambo AT ALL, and watch how you build your character. People breeze through their second playthroughs, so long as they follow the same paths and memorize how to traverse them. But if u run up on any new spots then…WELP! New trial and error. But I hear Dark Souls has checkpoints now, which should make it less frustrating. I say “should”.
Also, Japs have had game for over a week and developers say that they’re still hidden spots, bosses, and secrets not yet found. Wow.
JMD Squab, you might as well get it on 360 if you want to play it with people here. PS3 crowd might be more seasoned since they had Demon’s Souls and a for sure bet for legit co-op partners. They’re also going to run the PvP off top too. If you get into that, and want to get beasted, then get it on PS3. But I might not cop it until later, whereas you can be saving Richard’s ass right now or running with Abe or Shawn.
I played the shit out of Demon’s Souls on PS3, but still ended up getting the 360 version of Dark Souls because a) I have more friends likely to play it on 360 and b) my PS3 kinda broke and I’ve been too busy/lazy/distracted to repair it.
Anywho, I’m going to allow myself to play the Binding if Issac (amazing roguelike zelda/robotron hybrid) for thirty minutes, and then get back to drawing… 65 sketches, 3 master copies, 2 gallery drawings, and 2 still-lives due tomorrow. I’ll need painkillers for my wrist when this night is over. -_-

Hint: Don’t go to the graveyard where all the skellies are. That way lies madness. Look for the undead burg to the right of the campfire with the npc. Much more manageable.

Ok, all you guys are talking about the difficulty like it’s all there is. It’s hard, but it’s fun. It’s not hard in the way amateur game developers make games hard because they can’t create solid mechanics. It’s hard in a way that makes you pay attention, that makes you care. It’s about investment, and these guys nailed it with Demon’s Souls and I’m sure Dark Souls is the same.
We may also want to bring up the amazing art style and the uniqueness of the game design. It’s just a solid implementation of solid vision. It’s more than just Battle Kid. It’s a work of art.
Shawn getting me hype for this Dark Souls with that eloquent description. Guys making me go broke buying this game! lol Also, I thought all my comic ook nerds and hip-hop heads my appreciate this.
