CVS2 is the best 2D fighter our arcade has to offer. It is the only game the random mexicans can come play and be somewhat decent at thanks to KOF. Therefore creating somewhat more competition for that particular game. It also happens to be argueably, one of the best 2D fighters created.

I dont really have much to say about marvel. I get tired of seeing the same 5 chars used but im puzzled as to why noone else does. I mean, the japanese cant even take that game seriously…

I remember playing gg:slash casuals last x-topia tournament against some people from cruses or el paso. I’ve never played that game but i was holding my own using #reload I-no strategies. I can’t even name two people that live in this city who play GG seriously enough to want to enter a tournament, let alone anyone who would like to have practice games. So there is also no GG competition here, and it is also no longer in the arcade. But in this case i dont think competition is necessary really, i mean i was doing good against people at the last x-topia just from playing the cpu of a previous GG incarnation.

Third stike isnt that fun. I understand it gets pretty complex, but unless you are jap or use chun li, ken or yun. Its hard to get into that game. I like it over marvel.

Im open to play any fighting games, even 3D fighting games. I suppose what we need (This is for people in albuquerque) for people to start playing seriously is some competition. The only thing xero did better than play fighting games was talk shit. People dont understand though, talking shit is part of the game, keeps people playing just so they can beat you and brag. Although nowadays even that type of spirit has left the local arcade, i dont think anyone plays 2D fighters here seriously(im not talking about you tekken only fags). People get turned off by a game that requires a bit more brain power than just stomping on a dance pad.

Not me though.

I think that we do have some people that do play 2d fighters still. We are in hiding but we are here. I would play all the old skool 2d fighters if we had em here but thats the problem there is no place to play the best 2d has to offer. Plus even if we did most people in the southwest dont play anything tournament competitively. Its not just ABQ or LC its the whole fucking state. We live two months behind the rest of the world. We need to make a scene here in the southwest. What scene does NM have “ooh they make green chili” is that all we here for? I want to be put on the map this year at evo its gonna be Southwest vs EAST, WEst, North and da dduurrrty south. Whos with me?

that is why i quit playing gg/ games in general, tournament wise… its useless not enough or serious comp. just a bunch of whiny bitches that complain they dont feel like playing or get mad cus of losing or just dont have the spirit and think they are too badass but really have nothing… no interest and no motivation is the outcome with no comp.

there arent many choices, especially around here…

either you move. or play with what you have…

but i do have to add CVS2 is crap if you play with sck, cus hes boring to play with.
