CVS2 is the best 2D fighter our arcade has to offer. It is the only game the random mexicans can come play and be somewhat decent at thanks to KOF. Therefore creating somewhat more competition for that particular game. It also happens to be argueably, one of the best 2D fighters created.
I dont really have much to say about marvel. I get tired of seeing the same 5 chars used but im puzzled as to why noone else does. I mean, the japanese cant even take that game seriously…
I remember playing gg:slash casuals last x-topia tournament against some people from cruses or el paso. I’ve never played that game but i was holding my own using #reload I-no strategies. I can’t even name two people that live in this city who play GG seriously enough to want to enter a tournament, let alone anyone who would like to have practice games. So there is also no GG competition here, and it is also no longer in the arcade. But in this case i dont think competition is necessary really, i mean i was doing good against people at the last x-topia just from playing the cpu of a previous GG incarnation.
Third stike isnt that fun. I understand it gets pretty complex, but unless you are jap or use chun li, ken or yun. Its hard to get into that game. I like it over marvel.
Im open to play any fighting games, even 3D fighting games. I suppose what we need (This is for people in albuquerque) for people to start playing seriously is some competition. The only thing xero did better than play fighting games was talk shit. People dont understand though, talking shit is part of the game, keeps people playing just so they can beat you and brag. Although nowadays even that type of spirit has left the local arcade, i dont think anyone plays 2D fighters here seriously(im not talking about you tekken only fags). People get turned off by a game that requires a bit more brain power than just stomping on a dance pad.

Well, I was just saying that you guys played CvS2 a lot more than any other game. And that Colorado should be looking forward to El Paso if they want more 3S orientied comp since you guys (AFAIK) don’t really play 3S.

Eddy Pistons will be running a year long series of tournaments that will include cash prizes, quality venues, and of course, the hottest competitive games. There will be a tournament every 2 months, and the winner of each tournament will receive an invitation to the final event that will take place at the end of the year. There will also be a point/ranking system in place for this series of events, the details of which will be explained in the near future.
