New Mexico: ABQ Ranbats, Las Cruces TNF, and Community Thread (NM-ISM,DKO,LC:TNF)

Have at it on the quoting of images. Got more clarification on when and where it can be done. Regional threads are excluded despite what it says on the rules and regulations.

Still no word on the first post of this thread. If I don’t hear anything by tomorrow night I’ll just go ahead and delete all the posts prior to Zal’s post so I can make him the second the person in the thread. Can’t delete Akka’s post because it will delete the whole thread.

WTF where does this guy hang out? Some shady back alley looking for hookers?

So you are saying my thread is basically ruined…

This thread got awesome…for good reason!

lol @ NM wanting to fly out, wine and dine some more top players again to come down and take y’all money again. Lets be real here, flying Jwong down here did not benefit the NM tournament whatsoever. He referred to the tournament as, “just some random tournament.” No one of any “importance” is gonna fly down to this tournament. My point is that it would be a waste of money to fly down someone that you would think is a “huge draw.”

Oh, and just so y’all know, people like Jwong and Juicebox will most likely be at MLG instead. So if y’all want to D-Ride them some more, take your asses down to MLG that weekend. ECT is also the same weekend too. haha.

Someone is a bitter dude. Mamba is it becaue your statis of soulcal champ is laughable? Is it because those players bring hype as you don’t register as a blimp on any bodies radar even in the worst scene? Or is it that jwong’s one day of being here did more for the moral of players here than you living here for the last ten years?

Mamba your last post is as worthless as you. You have no idea what it did for our scene so try again.

I often can’t tell whether you’re trolling or not but if you’re not…so here goes.

Sorry Patty, but I agree with everything Mamba said. Jwong did nothing for us. Paying for Juicebox to come down here will do nothing for us as well.
No one will ever hear about these people coming down here. No one will say* “Hey! ABQ had Jwong at their tourney! They must be legit!”*
This scene doesn’t stream anything, we are on no ones radar.

I would rather us give hotel rooms to people who have supported this scene in the past such as the El Paso kids, than waste a room on “Ju-Ju-Juicebox…”

Who is paying Juicebox? That’s news to me.

Please correct me if I am wrong. Last I heard we were giving him a hotel room.
If we are giving him a free hotel room… hell, if we are giving him a free ABQ hat, then we are paying for him to come.

Do I need to explain how sponsors work? They are putting a major investment into ACE for one reason: to get eyes on their brand and on their product. They supply us with tools to get names out here, again for the purpose of attracting eyes to our booth and to their product. The hotel rooms and VIP passes we get are part of those tools. The pot bonuses are part of those tools.

There are more people than just Juicebox coming from Arizona. He’s just the “name” from there that we are using to get extra eyes and attendance to ACE. I’m not sure why getting more people to come (from both in and out of state) is a bad thing that is not worth us using the tools provided for the express purpose of getting people to show up.

Wonderful!!

Hey guess what! NO ONE WILL EVER NO THEY ARE HERE!!!
It’s a fucking waste of a “Sponsorship”.

How about we next year we get some “Sponsored” Internet in that building so we can stream, Oh wait they only “sponor” rooms but not the 500 dollar internet fee???
We got ripped off.

As far as internet, no we don’t have it this year. Next year will be a different story. Even if we had internet we don’t have streaming equipement as Nick’s died at the last tourney we had. In fact hopefully we make enough from ACE to completely fund a new set. But I guess that’s a waste because the sponsors helped us do it?

Of course the consoles, games, and controllers being bought are a rip off too. So are the ASUS monitors. So is the booth being paid for. So are the tables. So are the pot bonuses. So is the community hotel/break room. So is our tourney at ACE even existing at all. Do you think that us being the biggest booth at ACE (size and traffic both) was an accident? It was because of a lot of hard work from volunteers and a lot of money brought in from sponsors. Montoya especially has been busting his ass to get as much help as possible for us to run a good tourney and get big crowds.

Without the help of the sponsors we wouldn’t even have a tournament to bitch about. I guess everything would be a lot easier that way. I’m sorry that you don’t like what we are doing right now. But please trust that everything that is happening will benefit us, especially because this is the first year we will start to see a return of all the hard work and investment put into this tourney.

And without Juicebox we would have no sponsors?

I am not arguing against a sponsorship. They are wonderful.

Let me paint a picture for you.

Terrell Owens plays Indoor League Football on the side, while waiting for an NFL contract. Though if you want him to play on HIS Indoors team in YOUR city, you have a to pay his fee. Well about a month ago his team came to Rio Ranchor and Rio Rancho/The Stars paid his airfare, Hotel, and his Ten-Thousand dollar playing fee.
You know what happened? They sold out the game. People came from all our surrounding states to watch. It was a great investment.

This is what we are trying to do… We are NOT doing this. A “Sponsor” gave us money. We spend it on a hotel room to get people from Colorado to come here… so they can take more of the “Sponsors” money, anonymously.

Next year with stream equipment, you tell the “Sponser” they can have a BIG FAT “BROUGHT TO YOU BY ???” logo right on screen.

Who’s sponsoring ACE btw. I honestly have no idea, as i’m sure most people don’t.
