Hey what’s up guys? Just wanted to stop through and post up the info for the 2012 EVO Midwest Championships (MWC). That’s right, we are an EVO qualifier this year, and are looking to make this the biggest MWC yet!
This year’s MWC will be held in Nashville, TN. Specifically at the South’s premier arcade, Game Galaxy, which is owned and operated by OG tournament player and veteran game collector Jason “DreamTR” Wilson!

Damn just talked with some cats that play games and came to some tournies and Dylans once. They said it was a shitty time do to the clickiness of Eric,slash and crew. I’m not making this up they dropped YOUR names they also said any time they beat you guys you would say it’s cause there scrub ultra’s and such. You may not believe me but I’m not the only one who heard it just the only one who will probably say something.

I’m not saying your point is invalid but if you are going to raise the issue you need to have the same kind of respect you are asking for the rest of us to have. I know you think you are ‘just tolling’ but I’ve seen some truly hurtful words come out of your account. So much so that you’ve had to edit multiple posts cause the shit you said didn’t sit right with you.
I agree we do need to be better at welcoming new comers. That includes you too pat. When they see you ripping in to someone over something stupid they don’t want to post here or hang out with us cause they think things will be like they are on the board.

I’ll be honest, when I first started coming over on fridays it did seem somewhat cliquey, but everyone was always nice to me. I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed anyone be truly mean to one and other or exclude anyone. I’m sure we could all be a little more welcoming, but come on, this isn’t kindergarden.
I think that saying things to drive new people away is the exception rather than the rule. I started playing with you guys about a year and a half ago and I’ve never felt unwelcome in any way. Everyone was very helpful in teaching the noob what was what…and continue to be helpful even today.
I don’t want to speak for the newer people but I don’t think that Johnny, Rosen-b, Aaron, Nick, or anyone else has been made to feel that they are unwelcome or not included. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, however. Granted there is the awkward period where you don’t know anyone…and some people are better at introducing themselves than others. Maybe we could go out of our way to introduce ourselves instead of waiting for the new person to say something?
I don’t remember the specific example that Pat is referring to, but there could be many factors in those players coming back to get games. Overall this is a damn fine scene for new people in my opinion and I’m glad to be a part of it.
That being said, the one way I think the scene could help to welcome new players is to offer advice, even unsolicited when a new player seems to be having issues. I know for a while I was hesitant to ask questions or for help and perhaps some of the newer people that join us for one or two weeks and disappear are as well.
