That was a great listen. Thanks for pointing out the link!

Wednesday night Cbus casuals before SF4 tourney:
http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/4628050

First match is F-S.Akiha (radicaledward01) vs C-Warc (bqheath), last round.

After that is me on P1 side against different people (not listed in order here):

bqheath (C-Warc); I’m too impatient against Warc
MrBlastyV2 (pink F-Nero)
omgerstistony (C-Nero); doesn’t play melty, but I tried to give him a few pointers during our matches
Rakae (H-Ries) doesn’t play but wants to learn a little

I do win the very last match that gets cut off at the end of the vid, but barely. I’m too impatient and need to stop jumping into lose/lose air-to-air situations like a scrub

That F-Chibi Akiha needs to work on her oki and setting up flamerings properly. Also kept messing up combos.

A common set-up for late flamering oki is simply comboing into 22A. Low damage (well, actually moderate in this case since Warc defense is so shitty) than TK flamering, mix-up off of that. I’m learning C and F Chibi Akiha so just saying. She also has that loop off of 22A if I’m not mistaken which should hurt on Warc quite a bit.

I had casuals yesterday; playing C-Aoko, Akiha, Ries, Mike played H-Nanaya, C-Wara, Ka played C-Arc/H-Sion. I’m slowly getting hang of the fact that all of my characters oki is really best in the corner so I’m starting to sacrifice damage for pushing them there; I’ll record today. Also trying to get the hang of executing HCF with C-Ries while blocking which should really help my defensive game.

MWC is back and it will have MBAA…

…and Windjammers

what happeaned to that tutorial video?(for beginners)I wanna learn this game

I’m assuming in melty bread, kahaku’s video room is the best place for posting casual videos. Would it be better to post it in a character specific thread? hence I am interested in commentary. How about I post the casual in the Video forum and make a link to the thread in a character specific forum.

What exactly are you posting the videos for, feedback on your gameplay or just showing off your scene? Either way, posting in the video forum would work, then link it in the specific character forum you want.

EDIT: post above replied faster :V

It’s being worked on. Meanwhile, you can read the transition guide:

If you want to know how some of the written stuff works, you may want to watch a recently annotated video:

I guess you can say both. The video simply a causal match of me an my relative only.(wouldn’t call it a scene in my opinion ) Though we wanted to make this mostly for fun ( so many lost highlight moments). We don’t mind hearing others player critics.

Yeah that was me… I suck lol… Thanks for the info! I’m gonna keep working! I’m so bad at games

I’ve told him everything you’ve mentioned here, and showed him before. However, Ed has only been playing fgs for a little over a year now. Recently he hasn’t been able to practice or set aside time for sessions.

As far as the loop goes, he’s not quite there yet, gotta get basics down first.

^ yeah, I def hear you on putting time aside for sessions. What I’m trying to do is get Tanner and the rest of my crew all together so everyone can play but it seems everytime one of them shows up, the other one doesn’t/has something going on. Its starting to become a running joke, lol. Hopefully next week.

Okay so I’ve gotten back in to playing this again. I’m making a switch from F-Miyako to H-Tohno.

I’ve gotten all the B&B’s down so I wanted to know if there was anything else I need to know about H-Tohno in general other than the usual stuff.

H-Tohno is a pretty straightforward character,he has arguably the best normals in the game, can keep up pressure very easily and effectively, just make sure you try to build as much meter from your bnb’s as you can(include as many ground normals as possible),and also check his(fairly) advanced instant air-backdash combo in the corner,it’s very damaging and can also setup some mixups.

link to this combo please

Unfortunately, the combo was not complete in the video, but I think it was something around 2a6c5a6a(not the full 1-2-3)5b2b5c 214c IABD j.C(whiff) 2c 5a(whiff) 6aa BE6C(charged) 22a(probably half charged,I cant say for sure) then aircombo. It increases combo damage by alot and it’s worth the meter if you have them in a corner.Expect around 700 damage more than regular combos. As for the mixups I’m not sure, but I think it involved whiffed 214a and then 22B which-way’s(22B can be canceled on the same side or on the other side, depends on when you do 22D,which ‘cancels’ the teleport). You can also join #mbaa on irc.mizuumi.netl and ask for links to a stream from a meetup that happened not too long ago.I think Lord Knight was running the combo, and he also ran the 22B mixup.

That combo looks hella fishy. Like, impossible/fake/made-up fishy.

Basically if you do 214C in a corner combo, you get to do more damage. Like if you do 2A/5B 5C 6C 5A6AA 2C 214C (whiff 5A if necessary) 5BB 8 jCB djBC AT, it’s big damage. Even like 2ABC 214C into whatever is pretty good damage if you’re lazy. For lazy followup you could do like whiff 5A BE6C air combo :V There are a lot of potential followups, iabdC followup is the only one I see Japan (or anybody) drop so take that into consideration before you decide you want to be a fancy Tohno player. Fancy Tohno doesn’t win as much as boring Tohno :V

Also full air combo to AT doesn’t set up mixup, you barely get oki at all. 623B gives better oki but you sacrifice damage, typically a large chunk of damage at that. Don’t personally think his mixup is that great but you get to keep up pressure which is a good thing against some characters.
