you could focus his wall dives, his izuna drop is really hard to execute when your on the ground. you could focus then dash to him for a grab or jab > light tatsu > fp srk

only armor breakers vega has is an ex sky high claw where he just jumps off the wall directly towards u.
Flip kick also is armor breaker, in each form, from light to ex. (shin_ryu, i forgot to post lol, thx for the reminder though)

his only wake ups are his evading flips and scarlet terror (flip kick)
rush him down using jab or shorts… once he is in the corner against any shoto, hes basically done

his flip kick has some priority, it has decent recovery but able to be punished.
Ex flip kick recovers faster and does lots of damage.

basically to win this match is to dont try to go mid range where vega could abuse his pokes

once he is in the corner, rush down patiently… he cant wall dive on wakeup, theres too much start up, and its get beat out by any normal.

Hmm I’m pretty sure his flip kicks break armor.

I play online to try and build up the rest of my characters. Just to learn shit and matchups. I used akuma like twice on him.

Specifically for Abel, Rose, Chun-Li, Fuerte (on his wake-up primarily), and Seth(Fuck your Ultra)

There are times when I use hado FADC(backdash) to bait their Ultra. Is this safe if my opponent has really good reaction times?

I’m sorry but I don’t get to play but maybe once a week and it’s just for casual play with my brother, and then I’ll head to a scene with people that made it out of their pools at Evo and I’m just losing it with this knowledge. So I can’t confirm this and I’m hoping someone else could.

I’ve done this 3 times so far and I’ve fucked up all 3 times so I’m not sure. 1 time I fucked up my dash and just focus cancel attacked for Rose to Ultra me. Then one time I dashed forward because of muscle memory and got rocked by Abel. Then the last time I was so stressed out that I back dashed into a fucking corner and got Chun’s boot to my face style. I get nervous playing these good people.

It’s pretty easy for vega to izuna akuma’s focus actually. There’s a few vega players I know that can do it 100%, it’s not the best solution like it is for some of the lower ducking focus characters(izunaing honda’s focus for example I’m pretty sure is impossible).

Jump vertical RH will stop anything he does out of walldive except retreat, use that.

Can you give me some tips and strategies to stand a chance vs honda and blanka? Those guys tottaly obliterate me. I just can’t see a way to deal damage to them. Yes, I know how to demon blanka rolls but that just isnt enough D:

If anyone has experience vs a good Fei Long and has some advice I would appreciate it. The resources on how to fight that guy is lowwwwww.

Just some general tips are that most Fei’s will try and keep you in max Rekka range. That’s where they’re the most dangerous. General zoning strategy should work just dandy. Just beware of his FAST forward dash and be wary when teleporting. His Rekkas can punish a bad teleport if I recall correctly.

Good stuff man. I think I’m not trusting my zoning enough due ot being worried about chicken wings, causing me to get in trouble.

actually, I used to main vega, so If you do it a little earlier, you could beat out normals, it has good range.

read matchup and turtle. jab spam balls/srk if u can, srk jump ins, just…sit. it sucks, but what’s blanka gonna do?

I’ve had alot of people try that but I’ve never had it work on me, you could be right of course though, not many good vega players.

well blanka is one of my best match ups. you just need to watch his ex meter, without it he can only do a few things: slide, which can be punished with sweep or whatever on block, horizontal ball, which can be blocked on shoryu on reaction, cross up ball, which is easy to block, short horizontal ball into throw, which you just gotta be ready for, and his jump in combo, which c.HP stuffs pretty easily.

once he gets ex he’s gonna wanna ball so watch your fireballs and you can uppercut his ass outta it as well

When playing against a Rufus, and he EX Messiahs and you block it, use your EX SRK to get full damage potential and it won’t trade. IF you are stingy, use lp.SRK for maximum damage on trade.

EX srk is a waste of meter in that situation IMO.
I think regular HP srk would be the best bet, if he does late lk follow up you can just block it, if you know it’s coming. And punish him after he lands.

Speaking of Rufus, this might be common knowledge, but I have been clouded by ignorance when dealing with this fight, and have discovered something that makes the fight much easier for me(though it was 5/5 to begin with).

Rufus is basically free on his wake up, even with ex meter. If you meaty Akuma’s crouching light punch, everything Rufus does gets beat out. If he decides to do ex messiah kick, Akuma will do the cr.lp, but recovery before Rufus comes into contact with Akuma, allowing you to block and punish.

Also, if you meaty Akuma’s crouching mk, he can still get hit by the ex messiah, but he won’t take much damage, for Rufus will end up going over his head, giving you a free punish.
