If this is the wrong place to be posting this sorry, I’ll hop right on tatooing “newbie” to my forehead. But regardless, a-cho.com’s newest vids are 4 CvSNK2 matches, and each one is worth checking out. Plus, each vid is at least 2-3 full matches. You can get them right here.
They should be up until the 8th.
Enjoy :karate:

Damn, unless they were playing on busted sticks or something, both those C-Sagat players look mad weak. If that’s the average level of Japanese play, then no wonder Mago owns all those bums by doing roll, super all the time. The unfinished combos aren’t even that bad, it’s the bunch of the unteched throws and the unsafe tactics that go unpunished that make this match ugly to me.
Hatsutori gets props for putting up a great fight with his N-shotos/chun against the A-scrub guy though. Did anybody else notice how ridiculously low the A-groover’s skill level slipped to once his Bison and Blanka came in? He literally sat there and kept doing the RC charge moves over and over whenever the N-groover got close. If the opponent wasn’t close, Uma does the d, u+P move over and over. Nice. Fighting with nothing except two moves is the best.
7:11 - Why did the shoryuken trade? A-groove is stupid.
Ryu makes great use of the counter roll when fighting against Blanka. For that alone, this video is worth the download. The match still had a dumb ending when Blanka gets lucky with his b+KKK move though. The A-groover clearly baited into activating (caving under the pressure), but then gets out of the situation by mashing instead. :bluu:
Uma definitely knows his A-groove (maybe better than BAS even), but anyway yeah, I’m definitely not a fan of his playing style.
The other three videos are worth watching as well. People FINALLY start doing stuff about BAS and Mago whiffing RC’s over and over in front of their faces. I hate that bad habit Nakanishi has of using airblock and then random level 2 super ALL the time instead of saving his meter for a combo, but his Guile has gotten really solid. I picked up a few new tricks of my own from watching him.
Bison gets messed up because he doesn’t realize one hit scissors kicks aren’t safe btw… Japs are smart and punish with another Bison’s far s.MP xx LK scissors, while most every other A-groover I’ve seen in the US (save one or two of the good ones) are content to mash on d.MK instead (and die to random activate as a result). d.MK in that situation is for scrubs. Even s.LK would be better as it’s the same speed but has significantly more range.
Mago wins w/ scrub tactics because CVS2 lends itself to that.
don’t blame the player, blame the game. Top A-Bison strategy w/o meter : throw out d+MK to build meter, RC torpedo to the other side if they try to get in.
Blanka can RC ball all day w/o retaliation midscreen vs Ryu anyways.
Well that is the best thing to do against n groove. Not much has changed since evo2k2 in that department
I like this video.

This guy Dai lands an CC and has guaranteed damage. But instead of just taking that damage, he tries to be the shit and go for his unstoppable A-Hibiki “reset”.
Oops, turns out full metered A-Bison was mashing on his own CC the entire time. I think everybody here who’s always all over that A-Rolento guy’s sack talking about what crazy resets he has, but not as crazy as Hibiki’s, should watch this video.
uh yeah whatever, kcxj.
There have been some great CvS2 matches being uploaded lately. This page is updated regularly, so I would get this most recent batch of vids before they’re gone.

It’s a lot of A-Team players. A few of those god awful A-Honda bandwagoners as well. Much to my suprise though, they’re all actually really good this time around!

These two both have very skilled Bisons. Ryo’s Bison was down and loses at the end, but he almost makes a huge comeback when the other Bison gives him an opening. Ryo knows to use the full screen punisher combo against the blocked crusher. He messed up because I think he activated a couple frames too late.

0:40 Honda doesn’t just sit there like a scrub trying to RC all day, but actually plays some footsies by walking in just outside of Hibiki range, making her flinch and hit fierce, then punishing with the long sweep.
1:01 Counter hit setup during the blocked CC. I know that definately would of caught me off guard. Great meter management on Honda’s part too.
1:26 I’ve seen people use LP headbutt as their cross-up DP, but either Kaoro got unlucky here or he wasn’t paying attention to how Blanka jumped. It looks pretty obvious that Blanka was going for a crossup to me though.
If it’s one thing I can’t stand, is watching Kitinii though. He goes for the ugliest, most unsafe tactics my opinion. Random RC teleport from FAR away to get in?? He actually spends meter on jump-in, CC, jumping attack with Rock and Geese too. In one of these matches, he eats a DEEP tiger uppercut right up between the legs because he tried that dumb CC activation. What? Does he automatically expect the other guy to always block low or something? I understand CCing in the air late to blow through an anti-air attack, but Kitinii activates while he’s still at the apex of his jumps practically.

1:20 The reason why Sakura is one of the biggest Rock counter characters in the game. Her far s.LK hits so fast and far that she actually has time to activate and still easily punish the Rock elbows. Not even JD or parry would save rock here. It is Kitinii’s own fault for playing mad unsafe with his randomness again though.
Get rid of all that dumb A-groove stuff he does and Kitinii does have a dope Rolento though. Constantly in motion and practially impossible to chase down. He uses RC jump, j.HP as his anti-air?? What the heck?
Desiken has a top tier Kyo. Check out 0:14 of 040822deshiken-ryo.wmv when he does a ridiculous psychic parry of of Hibiki’s slash, then DASHES forward to combo into launching kicks. A-Hibiki is really cheap though. Ryo gets on a roll with her. Using an RC overhead mixup of all things, Desiken isn’t even allowed to stand up for a good while. I’m pretty sure what this A-Hibiki guy is doing is only good against P-groove though.
Vs. Kitinii, Desiken’s Sagat is really awesome. Rock wants to be tricky with his dash, dash after a knockdown? Tiger Uppercut. Geese has one of the strongest meaty j.MK mixup games in any SF game. At 1:40, Desiken shows why Geese needs to take that nonsense somewhere else buy using the wake-up option select parry/block and punshing Geese HARD afterwards. It’s beautiful. :bgrin:
There’s one more excellent recent vid of A-Sak and A-Bison going at it, but I can’t quite remember where it’s from. Bison uses up his meter on a blocked CC, but instead of super jumping away at the end, he foolishly decides to stay close to full meter A-Sak instead. Sakura proceeds to activate in his face and chip him repeatedly with the uppercuts while Bison can only helplessly block and be cheesed to near death since he has no meter for an alpha counter now. Sakura stayed frosty when she was being CC’d, knew exactly when Bison was at his most vulnerable, and took advantage of the situation with no hesitation whatsoever. Impressive.
Daigo should not be allowed to play A-groove btw if anybody also saw that vid. I’m so disappointed that one of the best all around players would end up being an RC claw roll scrub. Must of been taking lessons from BAS’s school of Vega.
if anyone saw kaoru’s video from those old monkey cup grainy vids, his a-blanka is freakin’ awesome when it gets on a roll.
BTW he was using A-Honda before bas was.
