Mine came in today (EMS). Put it in a Hori SCV but there may be slight problem - one of the quick disconnect wires just barely fits in because of the USB compartment. Had to remove the heat shrink from the quick disconnect in order to get it to fit and even so it just barely has enough room, totally squeezed up against the plastic. Might end up putting it into something different if the wire begins frays or anything but I reckon it should be ok.
w/r/t loudness it seems to be about the same as a JLF, maybe a tiny bit louder? Could be I’m just noticing it more because it sounds different.
Mine arrived today and although I grew used to JLF and balltops this CROWN joystick feels as much comfortable and is definitely staying for a while in my Q4raf.
I don’t know if this’ll work on this stick, but I usually grab a small flathead (size for working with computer parts) and push down on the stick (positioned inside the e ring) and then push out. Takes all of 3 seconds.
Got mine and installed it in my scv case. It definetly intrudes in the area of the plastic and the pcb where the wires meet up. Tomorrow I will be dremeling off some plastic to make it flush. Also had to remove the pcb where it was placed originally. Will be remounting the pcb too somewhere else away from the joystick area.
To anyone that has installed this in a TE - did you have any issues closing the top metal panel afterward due to the quick disconnects sticking out too far? Were any actual modifications necessary to get it to fit?
I haven’t received mine just yet, but saw someone mentioning a similar problem.
Yes, I’ve had trouble putting the top down on my R1 TE, as the switch pins on the stick will collide with the edges of the hole underneath the joystick. I rectified this by bending the pins “parallel” to the switch. No issues after that.
