I decided to take the plunge and pick up KOF XIII. My background is primarily Capcom fighters (mainly SF, I don’t like vs. games) but the 2d sprites and overall cool characters in KOF XIII made me want to try it out.
My main in SFIV is Cody and I really enjoy his playstyle. Does he have a comparable character that I can use in KOF to get my feet wet a bit with the new game?
Also, any resources / guides that anybody knows would be appreciated.
I’ll be playing on Xbox (XBL name: Yewni) if anybody wants to add me and show me the ropes.
Uh, I don’t really feel like making a new thread so I suppose I’ll ask it here.
Thinking about taking KOF seriously, but after sitting in training mode for a good hour I realized… I don’t really know what I’m looking to train for. And for the most part it feels like most of what I need to learn is match up knowledge. So what exactly should I be practicing? Obviously BNB’s, but is there anything else? Is there anything else I should know? I’m typing this before I go and search for my specific character’s BNB’s and any other videos I can find, but if anyone can link me to something I may have missed it would be much appreciated.
I actually went to that thread and was reading a good amount of the posts. I tried signing up to ask some questions myself but, sadly, I’m getting errors while trying to sign up (specifically, it never sends me a confirmation email) which is why I ended up asking my question here. I’ll definitely keep lurking though, at least until I can figure out what’s wrong.
Ryo, Robert, and Andy are characters that somewhat mirror Ryu. They all have the standard tool set and fundamentally handle like shoto’s do. While having enough things unique to them to dig deeper into. One thing to note is that Ryo’s fireball isn’t like a conventional fireball, but more like a flashy poke(Think of Ryo as Dan if he were legitimately good) and he has parries that can cancel into specials. In essence he could be compared to a 3rd Strike character to an extent.
Just bought KOF XIII and really want to get into it, this may seem like the most noob question ever but is there a trick I’m missing with hops? I cant seem to get them to come out consistently. Also team is Iori/Kensou/Chin with Iori starting. Any general advice would be welcome.
GT: Union Garside if you want to beat the hell out of me.
If just tapping up doesn’t work for you, you can do a reverse super jump. Basically you hit up, then you immediately hit down. Takes a while to get it right though.
